  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded Apr 28, 2022

I want to send a huge thank you for donating to my classroom! The chair organizers were such a wonderful addition to our classroom. When the students received their organizer, they were so happy to have a proper place for all of their books and materials. It sure made our classroom look organized and clean. We all appreciated these organizers. The students also enjoyed the Pop Sight word games. So much so that they even chose these games to play during indoor recess time! What a fantastic opportunity you have given my students. I cannot wait to start the new year with the outstanding materials we have received from Donors like you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McTrusty

  • Great Supplies Make the Difference!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

I want to thank you all so much for your thoughtful donations to my project "Great Supplies Make the Difference"! I have been able to supply my students with everything that they need in order to make virtual learning more successful. They now have all the materials they would normally have in the classroom. This has made teaching and learning more meaningful to each and every one of them. They enjoy having the art materials to participate in projects, which they have dearly missed as art is a wonderful way to express themselves in meaningful ways. We continue to find new and engaging ways to encourage learning virtually and your donations have definitely made a huge difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McTrusty

  • We love to Read!

    Funded Nov 10, 2020

I want to thank you all for generosity of donations to help my project "We Love to Read" come alive. Although we are not able to use this wonderful Classroom Literacy Kit in the traditional way as we learn virtually, we have been able to adapt the ideas and concepts to fit into our online learning. The students that are using these materials enjoy playing the "games" that are part of this kit. Each day students have the opportunity to work on a skill that is within this kit. I have seen my struggling readers make progress as they work through the skills. I can't thank you enough for caring about my students and my classroom.

    Thank you!

    Mrs. McTrusty”

  • Make Virtual Learning Happen

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

I want to send a huge thank you for helping my project "Make Virtual Learning Happen" possible! The materials that I have received have made such an impact on the students learning. I use the whiteboard and magnets every day and it is easy for the kids to follow along with math or writing projects. One of the things my kids really miss is our daily schedule posted..now we have a beautiful chart where we can now post our schedule for all to see and follow. We talk a lot about social/behavioral skills and Growth Mindset, all materials are helping students to think and discuss behaviors and attitudes.

I want to thank you again for your generosity in making my project possible.”

  • We Want to Keep Learning!

    Funded May 18, 2020

I want to thank you all so much for your generosity in donating to my project. When our schools were closed down in March, I knew I needed to provide my students not only with virtual material but paper and pencil materials as well. With your donations I was able to do just that.

I was able to deliver workbooks to my students that made it possible to continue working on math skills, reading skills and writing skills. The kids were excited to get these workbooks and many of them posted in google classroom pictures of the work they were completing.

As much as the kids loved these materials, the parents were also appreciative to have these materials. These workbooks allowed the opportunity for parents to stay involved with the learning.”

  • Learning Our Own Way

    Funded Dec 22, 2018

Thank you so much for the gift of Scholastic News that you have so generously donated to our classroom. Because of your donation, my students have been able to learn and see about new things that they never imagined! Not only are we able to use the Scholastic News printed copies as a teaching tool, but we also have access to the On line version. The students have truly enjoyed reading the printed copies as well as going Ondine to watch videos, play games, and find additional readings to further their learning. Thank you again for your generosity”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McTrusty

  • Our Learning Is Personal

    Funded Oct 1, 2018

On behalf of the students in my classroom, I want to sincerely thank you for your generosity in donating to our classroom project. The microwave that we received has allowed us to prepare a variety of foods that we have cooked or baked every Friday. So far we have made brownies to share with voters on Election Day, Pumpkin seeds, pumpkin pie and pumpkin muffins. The students that I work with all have emotional behavioral needs and the opportunity to bake or cook has given them a certain proud feeling when they create something delicious. When we cook we do not only cook, we practice our math facts through measuring and fractions as well as practice our writing when we put in order our recipe, write opinions about what we eat and writing persuasive pieces as we write letters to our parents persuading them to make our recipe at home.

The clip boards and white boards have also come in very handy. Students are able to use flexible seating while writing with the use of the clip boards. The white boards have worked wonderfully during our small reading and math groups. Each child is able to have their own whiteboard and enjoys showing their work!

Again, thank you so much for your generosity! It is very much appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McTrusty

  • Success With Supplies

    Funded Aug 1, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! With the donation of pencils, colored pencils, headphones and rocking chairs you have given my students the opportunity to have supplies and an opportunity to sit anywhere in the classroom.

We have been doing many projects that are beautifully decorated with our colored pencils. When we practice mindfulness and relaxation the students enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs.

These supplies may seem small to anyone else, but to the students in my classroom, they mean the world. They are happy to know that someone was thinking about them and cared enough about them to donate to our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McTrusty

My students are in need of all of the basic school supplies like pencils and erasers. Every day we have a need for these basic supplies that seems to enhance the daily success of every child. Every child deserves the basic supplies that will help them to improve their academic abilities. The students are also engaged in technology on a daily basis, however, we are in need in of headphones that are nice and sturdy. Offering a warm and safe place for learning is my goal as an educator. Offering basic supplies, headphones, and bean bags for students to feel safe and loved in our learning environment is what teaching is about.
