Comfort in the Classroom
Funded Mar 23, 2024Thank you so much for your continued generosity to our classroom. Our students have enjoyed having the new flexible seating with the rocking chair, wobble stool, and yoga balls. All of the students have enjoyed having new activities/busy boards to play with. Our students have also enjoyed having snacks/juice available to request when they are feeling hungry or thirsty. We always appreciated all of the support and kindness shared with us. Thank you so much for helping us provide these things to our students.”

Classroom Supplies for Success
Funded Oct 30, 2023Thank you so much for the additional classroom supplies that have helped with creating new teaching materials, as well as supported the students in our room. We have appreciated the new visual timers, they are such a huge help when our students need to practice waiting. We have been able to make new adapted books with the laminating pouches and adhesive hook and loop dots. My students have great pride in their work when they are able to complete things more independently, and the spring scissors are a great way to help them achieve that! The dot markers are also a fun item to use to play vocabulary Bingo! We also appreciated getting new folders to share, as they often begin to fall apart before the year is over. Thank you for everything you do, and for always supporting us. We appreciate you!”

Sensory Friendly and Fun
Funded Oct 24, 2023Thank you so much for your continued support of our classroom! We have been enjoying all of the new items immensely. The twinkle lights have helped make our classroom more calming and fun. The bean bag chairs are a favorite for all of the students in class, I wish you could have seen how their eyes lit up when they saw them! The chew necklaces and noise cancelling headphones were much needed replacements for items that were already used and well loved. We also have enjoyed incorporating the new games into speech lessons. Thank you so much for everything you provided for us, we truly appreciate everything you do!”

Funded Aug 8, 2022Thank you so much again for your generosity and support with the special education students in our classroom. We are so overwhelmed with gratitude for the new puzzles and fidget items we received-just in time for the start of a new school year too! My students have so many options and opportunities to access the new fidgets, we have fidgets at each table and a large bucket to choose from. We like to start each day with a morning meeting, and at the beginning of the meeting everybody gets to choose a fidget to use. The pop-its and pop-it bracelets have been some huge favorites! My students especially like the pop-it balls. The liquid sensory viewer has helped with calming down during our mindfulness activities. My students also love the new variety of puzzles we have! Thank you for everything you have made possible, we appreciate you!”

Funded Jan 1, 2021Thank you so much for your kindness towards our classroom. My students were so surprised to learn that our project was funded, and they were happy to receive fresh supplies and fidget items for the second half of the school year. We have finally been able to safely return to in-person learning this past week. My students have loved the rainbow liquid sensory viewers! They have made such a difference to brighten up their work station and give them an interesting fidget to look and interact with while we socially distance and sit behind plastic barriers. My students were very excited to see that we got dot art painters, and it will make playing Vocabulary Bingo so much more fun! We appreciate the sensory balls, pencil boxes, and basic supplies of glue sticks, glue bottles, pencils, pencil sharpeners, and crayons. We hope you stay healthy during this time, and know that we will not forget your thoughtfulness and generosity of your donation.”

Communication Stations
Funded Aug 14, 2019Thank you for your patience while we got settled into the new school year, and while I worked on the creation of our Communication Stations instructions with our speech and language pathologist! I am so excited to finally share with you the photos of us working on our stations and the impact your donation had with my students!
My students were so excited when they saw all of the new materials that were donated through Communication Stations. They are highly motivated to work with their speech devices and communication binders in order to gain access to the new materials. Every student has loved the puzzles, the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head toys, the marble run activity, the Legos, and the games. The students are enjoying having an opportunity to work with their friends in the classroom to complete the stations, all while learning to communicate more effectively!
This year we have also introduced a core vocabulary word each week. These are words that are commonly used during communication, and you can build on them to have more complex groupings of words (examples: want, mine, help, all done, turn, etc.) We have been able to incorporate our core vocabulary words into the Communication Stations in order to get additional practice with them each week.
Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness when choosing our classroom to support. Communication plays such an important role in everyday life, and for my students who communicate differently it is extremely necessary to continue to practice these skills daily.”

Funded Mar 20, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity to my students and our classroom! We have been so fortunate to receive these items from you! I have been busy making many visuals and new activities for my students with the abundance of card stock you have provided. I have created things for communication, English Language Arts, and Math. For communication, I have made new PECS visuals (picture exchange communication system) for students to request items and to use on visual schedules, and a bathroom poster for my door where students can pull the bathroom icon off indicating they need to use the restroom. For English Language Arts, I have made "Flip a Sentence" books for the kids to create silly sentences with to copy and practice writing, a typing activity for working on sight words, and CVC pronunciation boxes to work on sounding out CVC words like "Cat", "Bed", "Gum", etc. For Math, I have made new hundreds charts, hundreds charts puzzles, number line puzzles, and Play-Doh counting mats.
My students use the Play-Doh for fine motor activities, as well as for math related activities to make it more engaging and interactive. My students were so excited and intrigued to see all of the new fidgets that were provided, the bubbler ones where the colors drip down when you flip them are their favorite! I have one student who absolutely loves the Tangled Jr. fidgets, and had used her previous one so much we had to superglue it together so the pieces wouldn't fall apart; she was so enthusiastic and giddy to receive new ones! My students all also love taking turns sitting on the wobble cushions during work time!
Again, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity when you chose to fund our project. It has made such a positive impact to our classroom. My students are able to more easily navigate and handle the expectations of their day. We truly appreciate everything you have helped us achieve!”

Sensory Success
Funded Nov 22, 2017Thank you so much for the classroom sensory materials of the new trampoline and new fidgets. My students have been so lucky to receive these wonderful gifts from you. Upon receiving the fidgets and trampoline, my students were lining up with excitement to take turns and to try everything out. The magnetic wooden fidget has been the most popular fidget, and the trampoline is loved by everybody.
The trampoline has truly proven its worth over and over. My students stay in the classroom and have an appropriate outlet for energy instead of running into the hallway (we have seen a decrease in elopement since implementation of the trampoline!). The trampoline is also a wonderful reinforcer for all students, and they enjoy working for trampoline time (we use a first/then visual schedule, and have added a trampoline icon for students to choose!).
I appreciate the opportunities you have provided to my students when you funded my project in full. They would not have these wonderful fidgets or trampoline without your support and for that I am truly grateful for your generosity.”

Classroom Materials
Funded Jul 19, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity to my students and our classroom. It means so much to us that you chose us to donate to. We appreciate all of the wonderful new things in our classroom which includes the headphones, fidgets, therapy putty, bean bag chairs, and Legos. My students were so excited when they came to class the first week of school and saw all of the new and wonderful things that they could start using!
The new materials are used daily by my students and are such a tremendous help and support for them. With all of my students on the Autism Spectrum, focusing can be difficult for them. The headphones have been amazing when we integrate technology into our lessons, and they are able to focus on their own computer and work without being distracted by the noise from other students' computers. The fidgets and therapy putty are wildly popular among everybody, and help them stay focused on work and group discussions (they are also a great reinforcer for them as well!) The students have enjoyed the new bean bag chairs and use them daily for story time or when we use our Smartboard. The Legos are the most popular item during choice time and indoor recess!
Again, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!”

Mrs. Masset
