  • Fidget Through Art

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

This project, Fidget through Art, has made such a positive impact on my classroom this year. My students each have their own fidget boxes full fidgets they can use to regulate themselves based on how they are feeling. We have been able to use the art supplies to also get out some of our energy by refueling using art. They love creating and making things. Having a creative outlet at school is beneficial for my students to be prepared to learn and be ready.

Thank you for supporting my project and my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Riley

Thank you for your support of my students! These dictionaries will help tremendously with our new curriculum! Being able to put a dictionary in the hands of my students makes me extremely proud! Being able to use a dictionary is a beneficial life skill and thanks to you they will be able to learn this!”

  • Resource Room

    Funded Jun 9, 2017

Thank you so much for your support of our classroom. I really believe in my students and feel they deserve the best resources available. I appreciate that you believe in them as much as I do. My students and I are using our new resources daily in the classroom. My students who need that extra support with their foundation skills in reading, writing, and math, have really benefited from the interactive binders I was able to make with the supplies. I am able to be present for my students even when I am physically not there. This is huge for my special education students. We have been able to work on our social and behavioral skills through the games that were purchased as well. This allows us to have fun while also working on important life skills.

My students were extremely excited about the new school supplies. They especially loved the new games. In a day full of work and academics they really enjoy a few minutes of fun. I love that we are able to have fun but also work on skills at the same time. The students also really love that I am able to create work for them to be successful in or out of the classroom.

Now that I have received all of my supplies for my project I will be able to create more resources for my children. I will be able to make more than one interactive binder for the children in multiple subject areas. I will also be able to create visual schedules for my students to be able to track their day. In doing so I will be able to reward them through the treasure box because of the donations I received to fill it up! I can not say thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Riley

One area my students struggle with is reading. Having mostly special education students, they are often two grade levels behind their peers. My coworker and I do stations daily and these materials would be very beneficial for the students. We have recently implemented various types of reading intervention stations and we are excited to continue these stations next year. These stations include comprehension, phonics, sight words, and partner work. Our students are showing improvement but we want to continue to push them with new material. This is where the donations come in. In order to make these resources for students, we need the materials. We use dry erase boards and markers at each of our stations. These never seem to last as long as we would like! We have been doing interactive binders with some of our lower students and this is helping them to work independently. In order to make these, we need laminating sheets and velcro strips. Within the interactive binders, they are able to be hands-on and learn numbers, letters, shapes, etc. During our stations, our students have behavior/social skill goals that they get the chance to work on and we do this through games. They get about 7 minutes each day to sit down and play a game with another student/s cooperatively. The games that I have asked for will help offset the cost of providing these. By being able to provide what students need, they will be able to further their education and improve on some of their Individualized Education Plan goals.
