The Holocaust: Learn and Remember!
Funded May 29, 2013It is so hard to express how truly grateful I am for your donation. I thank you for your kind and generous donation. It is because of people like you that our world is a better place.
This academic year started off great when I received in the mail a class set of the book "Night." Although my students are currently learning about Immigration during the early 1900s, I am excited about creating new lessons for my World War II Unit and incorporating the book into my lessons.
The book "Night" is a special book that every Social Studies Class should have in their library. Thank you for making this a reality for my classroom.”

Ms. Diaz
Breaking Barriers: Jackie Robinson's 9 values
Funded Apr 20, 2013Many thanks for your kind donation. My students all loved the move, "42" so much! As you can see from the photos, my students had a wonderful time and are also extremely grateful for the opportunity of seeing the film.
Throughout the film, my students followed the movie so closely and continuously cheered for Jackie Robinson. My students truly learned lessons through Jackie Robinson's experiences.
The trip was a huge success and I even see a change in some of my students' outlook on life and behavior.
Thank you once again for your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Diaz

Funded Nov 20, 2012The students and staff at my school truly appreciate your donation for the laptop. I am so grateful that the 8th graders in my academy now have a place to print and conduct research.
As soon as we received the laptop, I noticed an increase in student work being submitted. Now students have no excuse when having to submit a hard copy of work. It is now easier to print student work and make comments that students can review anywhere because they now have a hard copy.
As a teacher, I have also benefited from the laptop. It helps me multitask while teaching. For example, if my students are viewing a video, I can show my students their average or the work they are missing by showing them their Engrade account (online grade book). I can also quickly input classwork, notebook checks and homework into Engrade from anywhere in the classroom, while my laptop is attached to the Promethean Board (smart board). Thank you again for your generous donation!”

Funded May 4, 2010This note is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The markers, color pencils, paper, scissors, glue sticks and other essential supplies have helped my students learn every single day. We have used the supplies to create newspapers, political cartoons and even created "Taboo Cards" (The word guessing game where the the object of the game is for a player to have his/her partner(s) guess the word on his/her card without using the word itself or five additional words listed on the card) for reviewing for the US History and Government New York State Regents Exam. The supplies are used in my 11th grade class as well as my Peer Mediation Class and Mock Trial Class.
Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your help my students would of never had these vital resources. Passing the Regents Exam is one step closer to graduating from high school and moving on to higher education.
Without donors like you, thousands of classes in NYC would go without the essential resources for success! ”

U.S. History and Government Review Books for 11th Graders
Funded Feb 19, 2010Thank you so very much for providing the United States Regents Review Books for my students. Your contribution has had a tremendous affect on them. Not only will the review book help my students obtain critical information to make them more knowledgeable about our country, but your donation will also help make time periods in American History more understandable and will explain terms and concepts to my students.
Finally, your generous contribution will help my students pass the state regents and will get them one step closer to graduation. ”
With gratitude,
Ms. Diaz
