We are finishing up or first IB unit "Sharing the Planet". We have been studying the tropical rain forest in Belize. Students are finalizing their persuasive essay urging the government to end deforestation. They seek to protect the habitats of animals such as jaguars, margays, harpy eagles, and toucans. In a special education classroom, giving students hands-on experiences helps locks in learning concepts. With the moss, charcoal, pebbles, and books, we are creating a rain forest habitat in a bottle to help students remember the different organisms that exist within a habitat.
