This past year I purchased LEGO sets and watched how much my students enjoyed creating together, something they struggled with previously. I am now requesting different LEGO sets to encourage my students to work together, to create stories, act out scenes in a community, and to create games. Motor and social skills are two very important skills that are really fostered in Kindergarten, by working together to build and play with LEGOs, I am hoping to further these skills. This year I am hoping to add on to the Community set we have in my classroom with some diverse LEGO people so my students can see themselves in their toys. I would also like to provide them with other LEGO toys so they can have hands on activities to further our social studies and science standards with the farm set and tubes experiment set.
