Wow! Thank you for your generosity! Our students are very grateful. When students meet as a group they are planning ways to improve our community and that is powerful. With all that is happening around us this gift will impact them in meaningful ways.

Thank you for supporting our club.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ramsudh

  • Wolbachia- Can't Keep a Good Parasite Down!

    Funded Jun 20, 2017

Having the minipcr and centrifuge has allowed the students and have a visual of what is happening to DNA as its being amplified. This is a rare and what happens is the visual learners can better understand this very complex science concept. This is the moment that students reacted with not only excitement but the hands -on-learning was great.

Students, saw the minipcr and centrifuge and were anxious to use the materials. We have talked about separating DNA and what is means to amplify it and these materials are not "huge" in size but what their job is indeed "huge"

During this semester we are discussing functions in science, math and computational thinking. So students are using these equipment to discuss DNA and its function, PCR and function. We are also moving into creating a hydroponic garden in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ramsudh

9th-12th grade math and science/makers classroom. Students are provided opportunities to "Make Meaning through Experiences" in both their math and science units. Our students are involved in real world aspects and we believe this sets the stage for interest in STEM careers in college. This is something we have been advocating in our classes and it is foundation of our school! Our students are asked to display not only content skills and knowledge but showcase 21st century skills that are needed to be successful citizens in the communities- we asked of them to use both- Habits of Work and core values.
