  • STEAM Night, Dream Night!

    Funded Jun 27, 2024

We just completed our big all school STEAM Night and it truly was a dream night! Students were immediately engaged with all of the hands-on stations that were a part of STEAM Night. There was Tangram building, Play Dough creating, card game playing, rocket building and much more! Families were so involved in the learning activities and had a blast! Being able to send families home with learning tools was a real treat. They were incredibly appreciative. Students left this event with a bag full of extended school learning ideas. Your generous donation reached the hands of so many children. Thank you very much for enriching our school and supporting this learning experience. You have made such a wonderful impact on our school this year. We really are grateful for you!”

  • Let's Spice Up the Start of our School Year!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

You definitely have spiced up our school year with your generous donations! I have been able to purchase many fun activities that enhance our classroom learning. Interactive learning is the key to getting students to embrace new skills. Teachers Pay Teachers is an excellent resource to support this.

With the TPT gift cards, I have been able to purchase some wonderful interactive games. Students practice language and math skills through a powerpoint. After several rounds of skill practice, students do a 30 second activity such as jumping jacks, elf walk, robot dance, etc... I use these as warm up activities before teaching a lesson.

I've also purchased games that students can play during our learning stations. These games reinforce the skills taught in class and the kids love them. Learning through play is the secret to a happy classroom. I've also found some great seasonal thematic activities to get them in the holiday spirit while focusing on important skills. The list goes on and on! Our classroom learning is innovative and energetic thanks to you. Thank you so much for your support!”

  • Colorful School Days Ahead!

    Funded May 8, 2024

Our school year has been off to a wonderful start thanks to your generous donation! The coloring supplies you purchased for our classroom are literally used each and every day. Our lessons are enhanced with color choices and options.

I've noticed that color helps motivate students to complete learning tasks with more enthusiasm and interest. We use the markers and crayons during our leaning stations every day. Students are decorating sight words, coloring phonic worksheets, and color coding math assignments.

Having beautiful class sets of markers and crayons to enhance our school work is such a treat. I wish that I could have video taped the first time I brought out the class set of scented markers. Students literally squealed with delight!

Thank you so much for supporting our colorful school days. We feel so fortunate!”

  • Hear Ye Hear Ye! Headphones Are Needed!

    Funded May 6, 2024

Your generous donation of a class set of headphones to my classroom has already made a really big impact! Each student has a personal set of headphones that they keep in their cubby. Students take ownership of their headphones and learn to be responsible for their care. This is so good for little ones. Having their own personal set of headphones saves so much time as well. There is never any question about who get what pair!

We use these headphones daily! One of our literacy stations involves the use of iPads. Students rotate through this station every morning and work on different literacy apps. Without headphones, this rotation would not work well because of the noise distraction. Students are now able to focus and stay on track! This is one of their favorite literacy stations. The success of it is due in part to your kind donation.

Thank you so much for supplying such a useful gift to our classroom. We appreciate you each and every day!”

    Mrs. Hedlund

  • Move and Learn!

    Funded Oct 20, 2023

Your kind gift to our classroom has greatly enriched our learning. With your donation I was able to purchase many activities on Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) that promote movement and also reinforce many of the topics taught in 1st grade.

We have been learning how to add and subtract to 20. One of the slide programs purchased projects a slide with a math problem on a big screen and then students write the answers on their personal white boards. After several problems, a slide pops up with music and a themed exercise. Students can't get enough of this! We have found slide programs that focus on time, sight words, place value, and shapes.

Whenever I see students getting the wiggles, I pull out one of our new learning activities and watch them get reconnected and focused on learning. Thank you so much for investing in our classroom.”

  • Explore Galore!

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

The Magna-Tiles you helped purchase for our classroom have been a BIG hit! Our science curriculum focuses on animal groups and animal habitats. We also learn about a new animal each week all year long. These magnetic tiles blend beautifully with classroom instruction. Students get to use their imagination and newly learned science vocabulary to build fun and innovative homes for all kinds of magnetic animals.

I have the set collected in our exploratory bin section of the classroom. When students finish their class work, they can choose from one of the exploratory bins. The Magna-Tiles are the first bin to be played with. They are used each and every day helping to keep busy hands and minds productive and on task. I couldn't ask for much more!

Thank you so much for enriching our classroom and making us feel so special.”

  • Hear All About It!

    Funded Jul 11, 2023

The headsets that you purchased for our classroom have been invaluable. We literally use them every day! They are such an essential tool in the classroom.

We started the year off with school wide testing using a computer assessment. The headphones were a crucial part of this testing. Multiple students could be tested at the same time without being distracted. Other classrooms were in need of Headsets as well and so we were able to share ours during this testing period. They were so useful! Thank you!

We also use the headsets during our morning literacy stations. Students have 15 minutes of iPad work to do each day. The headsets keep this learning station quiet and focused. Each student has their own individual pair to use and take care of for the year. They love it.

You have made a wonderful impact on our classroom every single school day. Your donation is so appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hedlund

Teachers are always looking for innovative ways to help students make personal connections to their learning. Books are the number one resource to help navigate this connection. Students become more engaged in classroom topics when they have a book they can read and explore. We rotate through small group learning centers each day. Right now we are in need of class sets of readers relating to the world around us, the seasons, and the weather. Having sets of readers relating to our science topics in the hands of my students will enhance their learning greatly. They LOVE books and often have to share a single book. The amount of conversation and text to self connections with class sets will be two fold. I want to continue to capture their interest and excitement for learning and these class sets of readers will do just that.
