Little Hands Make Learning Fun!
Funded Sep 26, 2024Many thanks for your wonderful donations to my 3K classroom. My students were so excited when they saw the boxes delivered to our classroom. They all gathered around in aniticpation as I opened each box and showed the children your generous donations. After much excitment the boxes were opened and we explored the materials together as a class. Then the new materials were lovingly placed in our manipulative center. Each day the children were eager to use one of the many new materials we had in our classroom.
Each of the materials I selected had a specific use. Small children need many different types of hands on materials to help strengthen and train their fine motor skills. Snap toys, small building blocks, tiles and letter recognition pairing toys were all purchased and will help enhance my students learning! Again I thank you for helping my students' "Little Hands Make Learning Fun!"”
With gratitude,
Ms. Craig
Let's Get the Ball Rolling!
Funded Aug 22, 2023My class and I were so excited to receive your generous donations! Our new unit, "Balls" is coming alive due to the materials that were donated. The children have been learning about speed, velocity, volume, weight and circumference using the various balls that were sent to us. They have observed the balls rolling, bouncing and flying down ramps. They have compared the texture, weight, shape and size of various balls all the while enjoying the simplicity of playing with a ball.
Along with the balls the children also received two games that use small round balls to help them sort by color, shape and size. Both games have a pen griper that encourages the children to use and strengthen their pincer grips in order to help them correctly hold a pencil when writing. And lastly, we received a Teacher Pay Teacher gift card that has already been used to purchase other print materials that go along with our unit of study. We have purchased picture cards, vocabulary flash cards as well as other visual aids to help make our unit of study visually appealing. With your generosity we will "Keep the Ball Rolling" along as we continue to learn and grow!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of MagnaTiles to our Science Center. The children truly enjoy building and creating structures using the tiles while exploring the concept of magnetism in a hands on way.
Many of my students come from a diverse background and do not have access to very many hands on Science materials such as magnets, Manga Tiles or other STEM materials. Our current unit of study is "Homes, and Where We Live" and the tiles are just what they need to try to recreate their homes or other buildings in their neighborhood.
Hands on learning and materials such as your donation will continue to help my students learn and grow in a developmentally appropriate way. With continued support and concern for my students learning environment from people like you, their future is surely a brighter one!”

Funded Nov 11, 2021Thank you for your generous donation of a light table and accessories for my PreK classroom. Our science center has truly come to life with the addition of your contributions. My students were so excited when they saw the boxes being delivered to our classroom and all eyes were on me when I unpacked the boxes!
We use the light table in our science center each day and it will be an integral part of our learning when I introduce our Light Unit of study. But for now the children love to explore the colors and shapes and how they change when the lights are on or off. They have explored using the accessories to count, create patterns, recognize letters and numbers. They work in pairs, take turns and discuss what they see and what they are creating.
It is very special to me to see my students eyes light up and be enthusiastic about science, math, and learning in general. Your support and generosity have proven to my students that there are good people in this world who want them to succeed.”

Funded Jun 2, 2020Thank you for your generous gift of the materials for my project, "A Soft Spot to Land". In this crazy new world my classroom looks very different. Gone are the rugs and couches of the past to share with a friend. Out of necessity and safety the children need to stay separate but comfortable in the classroom. That is why your gift has been such a life saver.
Each child has their own, personal cushion that they use when sitting on the floor, safely distanced from each other. They sit on them to hear a story, play a game, use blocks etc. By each child having their own cushion and floor marker they are safely keeping their distance from one another.
Also, since the children can no longer go outside for recess the jumping game and action cube have come in handy. We take movement breaks and roll the ball and count how many times we need to jump, hop, skip etc. These wonderful gifts have greatly enhanced my classes safety and health and are much appreciated.”

Children of the World
Funded Jun 19, 2020Thank you so much for donating to my class project, "Children of the World". My students were so excited and surprised when the box arrived. You could see the joy on their faces when the box was opened and the contents were removed. Everyone couldn't wait to use everything in the box.
During Center Time the new materials were used and played with. The children enjoyed seeing the puzzles and even recognized that these puzzles had real life people on them, "Just like my family!" one child was heard to say. The small figures and people were quickly used with blocks and houses were built for the families.
In a school such as mine, which has many families of many different cultures and ethnicities, it is truly wonderful to see all my students represented in the materials they use. It is important for the children to see themselves and their families represented every day in their environment and your generosity helped achieve that.”

Ocean Life At Its Best!
Funded Dec 7, 2009Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! Each year my class studies ocean life. With your donation of games and sorting materials we have brought the ocean right into our classroom!
The children were so excited when they saw the boxes being opened that they actually cheered. Everyone wanted to be first to try out the games and sorting pictures. They loved the ocean figures that were included in the materials. Everyone couldn't wait to play and when they did they shared and took turns so that everyone would have a chance.
Once again I want to express my gratitude and appreciation on behalf of my class. You really did help make Ocean Life come to life in my classroom!”

Music Makes the World Go Round!
Funded Sep 13, 2009Many musical thank yous to you for your generous donation to our classroom! Unfortunately our school lost its music teacher this year and your donation of CDs and Sing Along Big books have been a big hit in our classroom. As you know music is an important part of a well rounded classroom. Small children love to sing and music should be an important part of any classroom.
Now due to your generosity my students are able to have music in their lives. Each day before we go home we open up one of the Big Books and sing along to the CD. The songs are child friendly and have catchy tunes. The songs go along with the themes we are learning in class. We have been singing songs about ourselves and next month we will sing about the farm after we have visited a real life pumpkin farm!
Thankyou again for bringing music into our lives!”

Making Story Time Come To LIfe
Funded Sep 20, 2009My students just LOVE the storytelling puppets and books that go along with them. They were so excited when the box arrived , They actually cheered when they saw the contents of the box! Within minutes we were engrossed in the stories and anxiously waiting to take turns to use the puppets. The smiles on their faces were priceless.
Each day we have taken turns acting out the stories and using the puppets. The children love to hear their favorite stories over and over again. We have drawn our favorite parts of the story and acted out various parts of the stories with such enthusiasm.
Many thanks again for your generosity and caring on behalf of my class and myself.”
