• Back to School Basics

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. I went back to school this week and set up my classroom. Students are coming on the 29th and are going to be so excited to see our new room and all our new supplies.

  Our school could not do everything we do without the support of our amazing donors. We are a title one school so we rely on our donors and we are so lucky.

• Special Sensory Items

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. I am excited to be going back to school in two short weeks and welcoming students in three weeks. Teaching students with special needs can be challenging when you don't have the resources needed to meet their needs so I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support. My classroom is often a "calm down" place or somewhere students can come to do work in a quiet space, so making the room welcoming and giving them ways to calm down is so important.

• Welcome Back Basics

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. School is about to start again and I am so excited to share the new supplies with my students and fellow special education teachers. Summer goes by so quickly and your donation came at the perfect time. I love being able to help students with supplies that they may not be able to get on their own. I'm not sure how many pencils I go through in a year, but am so grateful to have a new supply and excited they are pre-sharpened! Students are always so appreciative of the supplies I get from Donors Choose and I can't wait to see them in a few short weeks!”

• The Most Important School Supply

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. Thanks to you, I will be able to give students a new bag if they are unable to get one on their own. Teachers go back in less than 2 weeks and students return in 3 weeks so this is the perfect time. I appreciate your support and know the students will be so excited to have a new backpack.

  I feel so lucky to give students a backpack when they are unable to get a new one at the start of a new school year. It's nice for students to get a fresh start each year and come to school exited with a bag and other basics.

• Most Requested Rewards

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. It came at the perfect time as our supplies were running low and students are working so hard on their state standardized testing. They are working hard and so happy to have new fidget toys to use during testing and a few to earn as rewards.

  I can't thank you enough for your support. My students work so hard and deserve something to help them focus that they like. Fidgets are the perfect reward for them.

• Building a Library, Book by Book

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. It came at a perfect time, right before PSSA testing so students had a nice selection of books to read when they finished their testing. They each got to pick a book or two to keep in their desk so when they were done testing, they had a brand new book to read. They were so excited and over the course of testing, they would trade books with each other and give each other recommendations.

  I am happy to have these amazing books in our classroom library and they will be treasured for years to come.”

• Staying Connected

  Thank you so much for your generosity. I can't believe how many times a day students are looking for chargers. Our district is doing the best they can to keep up with missing and broken chrome books and chargers but we are slowing losing the battle keeping everyone connected. I personally keep a charger in my room and it is always in use. Students are supposed to bring their chrome books back and forth from school to home and chargers are getting broken or disappearing.

  Thanks to your gift, a few teachers and students will have access to a charger so they can stay connected.

  I know this has alleviated some pressure from me when I can send students right to the charger when they come into class.

• Making Math Fun

  I can't tell who was more excited for the math games to arrive the other day. We often get funding for reading material, but very seldom get math manipulatives or games so it was exciting to have some fun hands on activities for students. The Kindergarten through second graders had a blast, they especially like the frog counting / adding activity.

  The 5th graders are looking forward to the fraction game this coming week. They are a great group and helped me set up the games for the younger students and worked with them to make sure they understand what to do on the first day using it.

• Get Writing and Printing

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students were so excited to receive your items. Students have missed out on so much last year due to Covid and especially when it comes to writing. When we were online, it was so hard to teach writing virtually.

  Now that we are in person full time, I can see so much improvement in the students, especially with their writing. We can work in small groups, use anchor charts for reference and sit together to actually work collaborately.

• Backpacks for Students

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. I was able to give backpacks to students who didn't have one. They were so excited to get a new backpack still in the plastic bag and this gave them a way to transport their lap tops back and forth between home and school safely.

  Our school is so grateful to donors like you that allow us to provide students with basic necessities for school. A backpack is an essential school supply that all students deserve to have. Now, thanks to you, we were able to give some deserving students a backpack.
