Living Our Fit Life
Funded Nov 16, 2021Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation. There really are no words to express my gratitude at this time. I can't wait to send our Thank You notes in March 2022 with photos of our students amazing progress. Thank you so much for your donations.”

Love Bags on the Go
Funded Mar 30, 2019Technology plays a huge impact on our students academic and social development. We use it to support our English Language Learning student population as well as with our Students with Disabilities population. While our student population is over 42% with Individual Education Plan (IEP), incorporating technology across the content areas has allowed our students to be accountable for their academic growth.
Our students have been absolutely excited about our new Flash Forge 3D printers. Our first 3D printer was gifted to us after I attended a workshop hosted by NYC Men Teach. Once our students learned how to use the printer, it was amazing observing their excitement of their projects being created and printed.
All of our students who had the opportunity to use our 3D printers enjoyed it. However, our 6th graders were super ambitious in creating prints. Our "Love in a Bag" project stemmed from some of our students researching Youth Homelessness in NYC. It is that research that ignited them to want to create 3D print buttons with positive words.”

Funded Apr 6, 2017There truly are not enough words to describe the impact of your generosity. My students were beyond surprised upon receiving our Mindstorm kits. We had pieces from old Lego NXT models that we were using and when a colleague introduced me to Donors Choose and encouraged me to submit a project. Having the Mindstorm kits has encouraged some of my most challenging students to explore technology on a deeper level (coding to create an app and/or game). Because there is coding in using the Mindstorm kits, my students were challenged in the beginning as they were not previously exposed to coding, however, the first time their robots moved as a result of their coding, they couldn't stop coding and exploring.
We are forever grateful for this awesome contribution and have been able to continue to work with the Mindstorm kits.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Glover
