Students in our classrooms learn best in workshop settings. They need time and space to think creatively, solve problems, and share their ideas with others. These tables will allow individuals and small groups to do just that in a risk-free environment. They can talk, write, and draw while they work, furthering their abilities to think critically about meaningful situations. Whether students work individually or in small groups, having a large "thinking surface" for brainstorming is essential. These tables will serve as workspaces across content areas. As the teacher, these tables will allow me the opportunity to provide visuals to scaffold student thinking as well as formatively assess their work while it's in process.
