Little Scientists
Funded Apr 3, 2023The materials I received through my project "Little Scientists" has really brought science to life in our classroom! Before the materials arrived, the science area was not an area of interest for many of our students. Now it is one of our most popular centers! They are able to investigate living things with the microscope, discover colors and patterns with the light table and light panels, and use their senses to explore through textured puzzles and clay.
We are currently studying trees and some of the materials have helped us expand our learning! Students are using the microscope to examine different parts of a tree. They use the play doh to sculpt their own trees, and the leaf puzzles to make leaf patterns and pictures.
Thank you all so much for your generous donations. You have greatly contributed to my student's love of learning!”

Funded Aug 19, 2022The beginning of the school year can be a challenging time for any student. There's new faces to meet, new routines to learn, and a new environment to adapt. For my students, it was quite the new year because not only was it some of their first time at school, but it was their first year being at school ALL DAY. I know that a great way to ease children into a new environment is to have new engaging toys and play opportunities available to them. With your generous donations, I was able to do just that!
They have spent hours at kinetic sand, building sand castles, making "food", and learning how to divide the sand evenly between four friends. (THAT was challenging!) Their imaginations have run wild in the dramatic play with new dress up clothes. Often times I have to remind them to take them off at the end of the day! New friendships have developed in the dollhouse area, as the students play with the Little People and create scenarios together.
These are just a few examples of what I've seen with the materials that were donated to my classroom. There are countless examples of learning both academically and socially. My students and I thank you for contributing to our learning and growing!”

Learning and Growing Through Art and Outdoor Play
Funded Aug 13, 2019The Pre-K teachers of Bose Elementary are flattered and humbled by your generous donations! Because the district does not allow our students to play on the school playground, we were excited to get some new outdoor equipment! The teeter totter, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and new balls were perfect for outdoor recess. They provide opportunities for our students to create, run, throw, and climb all while learning and developing their social skills. We don't miss the playground when we have all this awesome equipment!
At the end of the summer when we got the news that our project was fully funded, we were SO excited to start the school year with some new supplies and materials to provide engaging learning experiences for our youngest learners. We were so excited to share the new supplies and equipment with our students. Our returning students from last year were SO excited about the new outdoor equipment and art supplies! ALL of our students have benefited from the engaging experiences they have gotten from our new supplies an will continue to learn and grow thanks to your generous donations.”

Funded Apr 4, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity in donations to our project! We were and still are flattered and humbled about how quickly it was funded. Even though we are not allowed to use the playground, my students were able to get outside this spring and enjoy the weather along with our new recess equipment.
Even though it was difficult to explain to our young students, they understood that our playground was considered "unsafe" for their age and they were not able to utilize the equipment again until kindergarten. For four year old children, that's a long time to wait! When we told them that there were kind people all over the country that wanted to help us play and learn outside, they were very excited! When we introduced them to all of our new equipment, all of our students were eager to get out and play! For the remainder of the year we tried to get out everyday so the students could get lots of use of their equipment! The basketball hoop and basketballs are very popular because they are used to having to try to throw a basketball that is too big for their hands into a hoop that is too tall! The child size hoop makes it more fun to shoot baskets and also helps develop their gross motor skills. Students love playing the bean bag toss game- which also helps develop their gross and fine motor skills, as well as sharing skills. We look forward to the years ahead with our new equipment. Because of your generosity, students in the years ahead will get great use of the equipment!”
