  • The Hand is the Instrument of the Mind

    Funded Sep 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our project. My students will greatly benefit from your generosity, and I look forward to sharing the materials with them. These items will give them new and beneficial experiences with a variety of media. Thank you for contributing to our classroom community!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ryan

  • Hands on Learning

    Funded Dec 12, 2018

We received our new materials this week and everyone has been so excited to get their hands on them. I wish I could up load more pictures to show the amazing things they are creating with our new Pink Tower and Brown Stair. We spent some time comparing our old materials with our new beautiful ones. Everyone is doing their best to be extra careful to try and keep them new and beautiful.

In writers workshop our writers have been enjoying our new sandpaper letters. Our handwriting is coming along beautifully.

Thank you for your generous and continued support of our classroom, it is so greatly appreciated”

  • All Things Magnetic!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

It was so exciting to receive our new magnetic classroom materials. These new materials added a new element of excitement at a time when the school year was winding down. These materials provided students with many learning opportunities in multiple curriculum areas. From building words, to creating stories, learning math, art and even engineering. Students from our classroom will benefit from these engaging materials your generous donations purchased for years to come. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom.”

  • Spring is Bug Time!

    Funded Apr 12, 2018

Thank you for funding our project! The materials we received have inspired so much meaningful work regarding the monarch mission garden as well as other creepy crawly critters. Having these resources available in our classroom made the world of pollinators come alive. Students were excited to translate their life cycle research and learning into diagrams and research projects which they then shared with their peers. We look forward to continuing and deepening our learning about the insect world.”

  • Fostering Independence

    Funded Mar 23, 2018

Maria Montessori said, "The essence of independence is to be able to do something for ones self." This mailbox organizer will provide my students the opportunity to do just that. The system we currently have is mainly teacher directed and can honestly be a little chaotic at the end of the day, as we rush to ensure everyone has their scholarly work and masterpieces in Thier take home folders. I am looking forward to changing this system to a more student directed task; Creating independent and self sufficient students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ryan

  • Preschool Kids ask an Average of 100 Questions a Day!

    Funded Jan 22, 2018

Thank you again for funding my project. I am very thankful there are people like you that are so supportive of early education. My students are really enjoying the new books. They especially love reading and sharing their new knowledge with one another. It is so fun to see how excited they get.

Getting new books would not be an option if it were not for Donors Choose. Reading is so important. I like to find books to meet all my student's interests. I know my students are enjoying reading more with all these new books that meet their interests.

Once again, thank you for funding my project and supporting education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ryan

  • Music Can Set The Stage For Learning

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

We love our new karaoke machine. We love to sing and dance and we are thoroughly enjoying learning the new songs, rhymes, and chants with the many new CD's we have received. But that is not all... we are having so much fun using the microphone as we practice our speaking and listening skills. During our writer's workshop students are delighting in using the microphone to share their stories and receive feedback about their work from their peers. Thank you again for supporting our classroom and playing an important role in the development of language and literacy skills that will increase their future academic success.”

  • Strong Literacy Skills

    Funded Jan 1, 2018

Thank you for supporting our project. We are just beginning to enjoy our new listening center. There is a genuine buzz in the classroom and everyone is eager to get a chance to sit and enjoy the many wonderful books on CD we have received. Although we have had the listening center for a short time and I have only introduced the listening center to one student at a time, I have already noticed students recommending books and having thoughtful conversations about the books they are listing to. Thank you for making this ideal literacy addition to our classroom.”

  • Inspire, Not Require

    Funded Sep 28, 2017

Thank you for bringing this fun hands on science and nature work to our classroom. The students have been having fun creating drawings, reading related nonfiction books and making parts-of booklets of plants and animals. We are just beginning to unpack this works endless possibilities.

It has been exciting to observe the spontaneous academic conversations between the students as they work together and share their newly acquired information. As research has shown, higher academic achievement and motivation results when students explore topics of interest. Thank you for choosing to fund our project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ryan

  • Exposing Children to Animals and Geography

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

I wish you could have seen the look on my students faces when I showed them this work. My students love anything to do with animals! And this work has all of their favorites. Its hard to explain how awesome this work is. It meets the level of all students.

We have only had this work in our classroom for a few weeks and already I have seen wonderful things happening; from my ELL student who can now name all the names of the animals, the hesitant reader who can now read and label all the names of the animals and the continents they live on, to the avid reader who has begun researching the continents and creating books about the animals and the continents.

We greatly appreciate your support in bringing this work into our classroom and look forward to the exciting learning experiences it will provide!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ryan
