  • Organizing and Being Safe!

    Funded Jun 20, 2020

My sincere apologies for the delayed THANK YOU!! I am teaching virtual and hit the ground running thanks to your generous donations. As of today students have received two packets of learning materials to help us learn virtually!

I was able to provide whiteboards, markers and organization to help them thrive! The bookshelf stores our books we read so I can show them often! The label maker has made making things to send home a dream and has saved so much time! The bins keep all of us organized, including me, so we know what we need each day!

These materials will also be wonderful when we get to return to the classroom! I can't thank you enough for your continued support, love and generosity to help me do my job the best I can and provide for my classes! I am incredibly grateful. Stay well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Butchart

  • Future Engineers in the Making!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you for your continued support for Science and Engineering in our classroom! The students are loving learning to code, make circuits and more!

They are truly discovering, using trial and error and light bulbs are going off left and right! When we first opened the materials all the ah, wow, can't wait to explore and experiment comments and facial expressions were priceless.

Thank you does not seem like enough, but THANK YOU from our 4th grade classroom!! Because of you we are able to learn more engineering and science standards in fun and engaging ways!”

  • iPad Learning Galore!

    Funded Apr 23, 2019

I can't thank you enough for your continued support. I was able to use the iPad to complete assessments in record time! It was efficient, easy and, in my opinion, more accurate! Students were able to use the ozobots, enhance their learning with apps and more!

I am very appreciative of what this will do for years to come! Can't wait to set up the Apple TV I was also able to get from family to make learning even more interactive and engaging! The students have been careful, thankful and inquisitive in all we can use our new iPad for!! They were in aw that they could use it as a controller to move our Ozbots, used to read, solve math problems and communicate with our pen pals!

It was an exciting end of the year with our new technology and will Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart and my current and future students! We won't let you down!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Butchart

  • Always Growing!

    Funded Jun 1, 2018

I am incredibly thankful for the professional learning opportunity that you helped me experience. Starting my 11th year of teaching and learning from one of the BEST in literacy was INCREDIBLE!! Her knowledge, heart and love for what she does was contagious!

Just meeting Jen Jones made me smile and my heart explode! I left the conference with more strategies than I could have ever imagined and the Monday I came back implemented two and I already notice a difference in our connections, understanding and application of reading, science and writing skills.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Thank you for supporting me, believing in me and continually enabling me with the tools and knowledge to continue to grow as an educator and help impact children in positive ways. After all they are our future and next generation. It is going to be an incredible year indeed!”

  • STEM Activities to Build Future Engineers and Creative Thinking!

    Funded Dec 6, 2017

My apologies for the delayed thank you!! We had a hold up with some of the items lost in the post!! All is well and everything as arrived, been opened and explored! The excitement to finally open the boxes was contagious! I was glad I could share a picture of them smiling, standing and smiling with gratefulness!

A heartfelt thank you to your amazing and continued generosity to support our children/students!! I promise you we will take great care of these activities and learn many new skills because of you!! We are creating future Engineers, Scientists and Mathematicians!! STEM at its finest!

We have had several days of hands-on use and each are fining their way into engineering and science that interests them the most! Many like creating circuits while others enjoy creating Ozobot paths and courses. We have learned design and intentional is key to success. Also that math plays a huge role in our success and exploration!

Again, thank you for allowing us to get these materials and allow for more hands-on learning all related to coding, engineering and science! If this gets just one students excited and wanting to go in such a field my heart is filled! I am certain many will from this crew!

I couldn't do my job as well without community relationships, friend and family! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Butchart

  • A Comfortable Classroom through Flexible Seating Options!

    Funded Aug 1, 2017

A huge thank you for your support! My 5th graders were amazed when they entered their portable on the first day of school. It was something they had never seen! There were many 'wows', 'this is amazing', 'I love all these seats', 'This is the best class ever!', and tons of 'thank yous'!! So many seats to choose from--the beanbags, wobble seats, table top treys, stools and more!! They have found their 'just right' seats and switch out depending on what we are learning and how it helps them be more comfortable and in return more successful!

My favorite moments are when they share how much it helps them focus, pay attention or get their wiggles out. They often say how thankful they are. This year there are 14 boys and 9 girls. It is truly impacting my more active boys that otherwise would be restless. They are able to move and work.

This project has impacted my teaching on more ways than I can count and I am eternally grateful. It makes this teacher and mommy heart happy to see the kids truly engaged, managing their personal needs and making impressive growth all while in a comfortable environment thanks to all of you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Wobble the Wiggles Out!!

    Funded May 2, 2017

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your generosity to support my 4th grade classroom in getting 8 wobble chairs! I chose to surprise my class, so when they opened the box it was a complete surprise! They were beyond thrilled and so thankful!

This group is especially wiggly and these wobble chairs helped us end the year more focused, on task and productive! We have been able to use the chairs daily, during state testing, and to use flexible seating within the class. They have been respectful and responsible with the chairs and I have sincerely seen a decrease in behaviors--THANK YOU!!

I am looking forward to many years of students using these wobble chairs! I found out I am teaching 5th grade next year and I know they will LOVE them!!! What a great way to end and start a new year!! You have greatly impacted my class this year and will continue to do so! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we have the wobble chairs!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Butchart

Research has been done to show the effects of a student's movement in the classroom being directly correlated to their ability to stay focused and pay attention. Herman Miller states in their research that, "Comfortable classrooms-physically and psychologically - promote a sense of well-being, keep minds focused, and limit distractions." I want to offer my students a variety of seating in our room to help foster active learning. They would be able to use these as needed at their seats, at small group time, during whole group learning, as well as during collaborative learning. These seats will be used as a part of a flexible seating design. Engagement and active learning improve retention. These alternative seats will allow my students to move freely and stay focused when it is most important. Many Blessings and Greatly Appreciated,
