  • Tools-Critical Thinking-Application

    Funded Feb 5, 2018

    Thanks very much for helping to make this new Construction Technology shop a reality! My students will be using the finish nail nailer to seem cross cuts and join trim wood for molding projects that they have constructed from sketches they drew. They use the vacuum to clean up their work areas so they are free of dust debris and can work safely. Both tools are to be used daily in class. Students are trained to use them safely and properly.

    Students had some knowledge about the donated tools, but only grasped the full understanding of the tools by being actually able to use them. Both tools are terrific additions to the tools we are using and the projects we are creating in our Construction Technology class.

    Next steps are for students to create their own wooden tool boxes, which they will design and build. They will continue constructing projects using sustainable materials.

  • Construction Technology Student's Workbench Project

    Thanks to you, my students are creating practical, real life projects. Projects that are tangible and valuable. Students are problem solving, working as teams, completing project based learning assignments and learning news skills.

    Students construct their hands on projects using their very own personal protective equipment, which you provided. They look forward to taking this class and applying skills and many wish they had this class earlier in their school process.

    Many of my students want to attend selective challenging Career and Technical High Schools. My hands on class prepares them mechanically and theoretically for future courses. Many help out at home, perform home improvement chores/duties for their families.

    Again, I am very grateful for your support. Your support helped me help them.”
