Let the Students' Be the Teacher
Funded Feb 13, 2024Thank you so much for donating my easel to my classroom. It is so nice having it there at an extra board to help support my teaching. The students love it as well. They take turns going up to the easel and use my pointer to review or teach the skill we are learning for the day. It's easy to move around as well. Thank you once again for making learning fun and memorable. I believe by having this easel it will make a tremendous impact in their learning. They all want a turn teaching the skill to each other.”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by Nevada Department of Education.Listening Center
Funded Apr 11, 2020This year was very difficult for my 1st graders. We were out of school for an entire year before we could return back to school. By having these books in my classroom, it allowed for students to hear fluency, allowed students to read along, and listen to sight words throughout the stories. It also allowed the students to use strategies such as retell, make connections, and make predictions.
We are not allowed to rotate to centers this year due to COVID restrictions. They are allowed to listen to the story, 6 feet apart, only two students at a time, with their own headphones. Usually kids would sit or lay around the room and find a good quiet spot to read. I have carpets, little stools, and a teepee they could read at but due to Covid that has all been taken away, so they read at their desks now.
All the students enjoy listening and reading these books. Thank you for bringing it into my classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jordan
