Our third grade scholars are in need of extra Literacy activities to use inside and outside of the classroom in order to boost student interest and performance. Our students reside in one of the most poverty stricken neighborhoods in Washington, DC. Even though we are just a few short miles from the buildings that legislate our country, our students lack some of the basic tools that are necessary to build live long readers. We strongly believe in creating a learning atmosphere at home and at school. I would like to purchase hands on activities that make reading not only fun, but also shows students how we can use Reading in different ways. Families can also learn and begin to love helping their children at home, while strengthening their skills at the same time. Families will have the chance to meet the needs of students with games, STEM building/ Literacy activities, and project based learning. They will use the different games at home to make learning a natural and fun thing that families can enjoy. I hope that you would consider donating to our project and making an impactful difference on the lives of some of our neediest students.
