  • STEM in School: An Education Every Student Deserves.

    Funded Dec 3, 2018

Due to your generosity classes were able to take innovative ideas to enhance society and engineer them into existence! Students were able to create powered fans, solar fans, PVC piping to create modern structures & so much more!

Initial lessons on anatomy and physiology were enhanced with the use of the heart structure. Students were able to get a hands on experience of the heart with an open cross section. This allowed students to clearly identify 3-D images of various valves, veins & chambers.

Students in STEM were then introduced to circuitry. Through readings students understood the history of circuits and how circuits play a role in society. The circuit kits allowed students to prototype various projects such as fans and other cooling devices which could be planted at various Bus Stops.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Dunne-Jaffe

  • Enhancing Stem One Resource At A Time

    Funded Dec 31, 2018

On behalf of the School, student population, and STEM community, we thank you for the donation. With your generous donation we can further develop the STEM curriculum and continue to enhance student learning by providing skills needed to succeed in the 21st Century workforce. We look forward to keeping you updated with the resources you have provided.”

Up until this point my students in STEM have been limited to coding and web design on laptops. This great opportunity offers my students the ability to further their learning by applying concepts in the classroom. Materials such as snap circuits allow students to delver deeper into circuitry. Constructing prototypes and revising kinesthetic work promotes critical thinking within the classroom, offering students the opportunity to solve real world issues in the class. Inspiring students to broaden their horizons by utilizing the anatomy of the heart might open opportunities and spark interest of those who choose to enter the medical field. These resources might very well lead my students into a future where possibilities are endless and success is inevitable.
