Every year, our high school does two major productions, a Shakespeare performance with a local theater company and a fully staged musical. Both of these productions involve fully produced light and sound cues, which students learn about and build themselves. However, there are some pieces of software that simply cannot run on the computers we have access to. Qlab, which theater companies across the country use for their productions, is an Apple only product and the Windows equivalent is outdated, overly complicated, and fails to teach our student technicians an important skill. The software itself has a free version, which will suit our needs, but only with this Macbook Air will they be able to use that software.
