The supplies that I am requesting for my students will help them greatly improve their fine motor strength and increase their attention to tasks. The sorting cup, small white peg board, pop tubes, slant board, pencil weights and hand tongs will help the students improve their fine motor strength needed for writing, coloring, cutting and self-help skills of buttoning, snapping and zipping. The bitty bottom, wrist weights, bouncy bands, wobble chairs, Freddy's fidget, fiber optic light, fidget cube will give my students vestibular, proprioceptive, tactile and visual input to increase their attention. These activities will help improve my students learning by decreasing behavior as well. Some of the materials I am requesting will help improve both fine motor and attention to task. For example, the pencil weights can help improve fine motor/hand strength but will also give proprioceptive input. The therapy ball can help improve upper body strength needed for completing fine motor activities, as well as, provide vestibular and proprioceptive input for increased attention.
