The high interest leveled book set and other materials I am seeking will allow me to deliver literacy instruction focused on the specific skills students need to develop to become confident and independent readers. The books will be used daily during guided reading instruction. Guided reading is a proven instructional practice used to provide differentiated instruction to all students. Many of the books I am seeking are nonfiction. These nonfiction guided reading sets were chosen because they directly align to the kindergarten and first grade curriculum. As a result, I will be able to teach content along with reading skills.
