I am asking for six 3-1/2-Gallon Beverage Dispensers, twelve cans of Lemonade Drink Mix, six bottles of Fruit Syrup and nine bottles of Strawberry syrup. The supplies will be used by my students to set up lemonade stands, and sell lemonade. The lemonade stands will allow my students to integrate real world experiences through math and literacy. Students will be able to measure appropriate amounts of lemonade mix by converting units of measurement into the lemonade dispensers. Students will be able to calculate money received and change given back to customers by adding and subtracting decimals in money. Students will create charts to determine the most popular lemonade recipes with the different lemonade flavors using tally marks. This educational opportunity will teach my students how to start, own, and operate their own business, by operating a lemonade stand.
Starting a lemonade stand will allow my students to apply classroom skills into the real world through project-based learning. Students will take various steps to complete their Business Plan, determine the cost, flavors, marketing, and sell lemonade. My students will work in teams to set goals and assign task within their groups.
Operating a lemonade stand is an enrichment opportunity that lends itself real-world financial literacy experiences for my students to be successful in their communities.
