As a kindergarten teacher, in my 3rd year of teaching, I continue to review and buy products to see what works. I came across the Phonics book by Pearson and fell in love. It is colorful and has great strategies to help struggling readers. Each section reviews phonemic awareness, sound to symbol, initial/final consonants, blending, words in context and a short story. My class would really benefit from this book, because there is a section that I can use in whole group, small group and independent instruction. I can also send parts home as homework as well. My students and I would be so grateful if we got the help to buy these books for our classroom. We would be able to achieve our goal of being stellar readers by the time we get to first grade! Can you help our class out?
