  • Earbuds for Virtual Learning

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

The impact your donation of earbuds has been more than I can ever thank you for. Kids during the virtual times of academics need a quiet place to work, listen, and learn, and these earbuds help do just that. Because of your donation, I was able to provide two sets of earbuds for each one of the students I teach, and I was able to provide some to them during our state testing a few weeks ago.

Students love the different colors of the earbuds to express their personalities, and they also love how they fit in their ears. All of the kids I have asked have said their pair fits perfectly for them.

Again, the impact of your donation is astounding, and we are all so grateful for people like you who continue to help students enhance their education with tools such as earbuds to make learning happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Furniture for Intervention

    Funded Feb 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your more than generous donation to our classroom. This kidney bean table and wobble stools have been a popular and feasible addition to our classroom.

Students have been able to sit at this table for their permanent seats in the classroom if needing to move around while they sit. Small groups and partners have had this table as a excellent meeting place, and I am able to work with small groups on a concept or skill they are struggling or excelling with. This table is also used as a great workspace to spread a project or task out that is needing a greater area besides a desk top. Students recently submitted their Museum Projects, where they chose an artifact from an ancient civilization to create with materials found around the house, and this table was used to display the projects to other classmates.

All of the appreciation, love, and support you give to teachers across the state is profound, and I cannot thank you enough for your donation to my classroom that helps students succeed in ways one cannot begin to think of.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • First Year Teacher!

    Funded May 11, 2017

Thank you so so much for your thoughtful and kind act to donate items to help foster my students' academics. The items that were donated are used everyday, and would not have been able to help our classroom without your donation.

One of the items that was donated was a document camera. We use this almost in every single subject, but it is used most often in Language Arts. Every day in the current unit so far, students learn about a different set of homophones. We use our interactive notebooks to write down a proof for each homophone to include in our 10 minutes of writing each day. I project my interactive notebook onto the SmartBoard with the document camera and students are able to copy down into their notes what each proof is. Then, students spend 10 minutes writing about anything in their journals using the homophones we learned about that day in their writing.

A second item that was donated was a set of scientific calculators. These are used almost everyday in our math learning. Students are able to use calculators to help them solve real-world problems that we come across in math, and are able to apply the process learned to solve the problem to the answer on the calculator and compare results.

The last donation was a binding machine. This is used to bind together our Growth Mindset journals that students write in every day as a warm-up activity when they come into Social Studies class. In these journals, students explore growth mindset-related terms and their definitions, research famous people who are known to have a growth mindset, and translate the meaning of quotes that have a growth mindset message.

My sixth graders and I cannot thank you enough for your donation. It has helped our learning tremendously!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

Hello! My name is Ms. F. and I am a first-year teacher at Webb Middle School. I team-teach with one other teacher and split subjects between two groups of sixth grade students (about 55 students total). My classroom used to be a computer lab prior to this current school year, so the amount of outlets and the WIFI connection is totally awesome! However, there are some shortcuts to being a first-year teacher and having an old computer lab as a classroom. From starting out with little to nothing to my name for classroom supplies and materials to having limited space are a few of the shortcuts. All in all, this school year is going so well and all of my students are an excellent bunch to start out my teaching career with!
