  • Social Distance...Superheros

    Funded Dec 26, 2020

Thank you for donating to our project! We greatly appreciate each and every donation that fulfilled our project. This has been a challenging and successful year like no other. Most importantly, we are thankful to be able to continue our jouney in person. Children need school and schools need children and their families.

The new "normal" has been a jouney for us as teachers and our precious children. The literature provided through this project allowed us to inform/educate children about the Corona virus in an age appropriate manner. Children are resilient and their understanding and compassion toward one another left us speechless. As teachers our role is not only to educate our children but to build relationships and ensure thier safety.

We never anticipated the number of mask needed for just one day.Thank you for allowing us to keep out children safe physically, socially, and mentally.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sullivan

  • I've Got LOTS of Feelings

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

Thank you for taking interest and donating to our Feelings and Mindset project. We began using the resources as soon as they arrived. The first step was to explore and recognize our own feelings and feelings of others. This has had a tremendous impact on our classroom community. The children then created their own classroom promises: We will be safe, We will look out for eachother, We will help eachother think, and We will respect our family. This bond has made our classroom a safe place to express feelings, ask friends for help, and comfort one another. We truly are a family! Thank you again for supporting our cause.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sullivan

  • Wonder...Exploring with Light, Shadow and Reflection

    Funded Apr 26, 2017

The light cubes and tools have been a wonderful addition to our classroom. The children did born now what to call the light cubes when they were first displayed. They were often referred to as ice cubes among children. ["They can't be ice cubes they don't melt and they aren't cold silly!"- Lauren]

The light cubes have given a whole new dimension to building and exploring with magnetiles. My favorite creation has been a duplicate bedroom, with the lighting changing at bedtime.

Stay tuned the next step is color exploration.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sullivan

Children deserve the best that humanity has to offer.Every child is unique in their styles of learning, stages of development, and interests. They have strengths, abilities, and potentials which must be recognized and supported in a respectful and nurturing manner. Children have the right to realize and expand their potential and to interact with adults who support their thoughts, ideas, and actions rather than simply teaching knowledge and skills. With these beliefs, each child has the possibility to impact his own learning and be a productive citizen. We implement a Reggio-inspired approach to teaching and learning. This approach focuses on the image of the child, the role of the environment, collaboration, documentation, a child-centered curriculum, professional development, and partnerships with parents and the community.
