My goal is to have a few tables, a love seat, and coffee table, rug, pillows, etc. so kids can feel more comfortable in my classroom. I want each and every one of my students to feel a welcoming presence when walking into my classroom and for it to feel easy and natural for collaborative learning. I believe the use of "regular" furniture can make this happen. High school students feel enough stress without having to walk into a dull, lifeless room. Learning doesn't have to mean being uncomfortable! My wish is for my classroom to be a favorite place to go on campus. Students will learn and study in a flexible seating environment in which to thrive to their highest heights! It's the Treetops way!
