Many students have been impacted by Covid and have not been given the opportunity to be in school, explore through manipulatives, and begin to enjoy books. Therefore I am requesting storytelling kits (books and manipulatives) to bring favorite stories to life. These delightful kits come with all the pieces needed to tell the story and will create hours of storytime fun at school and at home. These kits will enhance their ability to retell stories with support (K.RL.2) and ask & answer questions about key details in a text (K.RL.1). As Dr Suess says, "You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax all you need is a book". Not only will these stories be used at school but they will also be sent home to encourage family reading time. Additionally this project will benefit both general and special education students. It will allow low visual students materials that have high contrast as the manipulatives are simple, colorful, and full of textures. The materials will hold student's attention by seeing it and pairing it tactilely.
