Thank you so much ! I can’t believe how quick this project got funded. Hopefully we will receive our materials soon to get started on our projects. We can’t wait to share pictures of our upcoming activities. Thank you for thinking about our classroom and supporting our classroom activities.”

  • Let’s Create and Learn

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you all for your support. My students had been using and enjoying the materials. They are so excited to continue using this materials to learn and grow. The are building town projects making their own towns. They used some of the materials to write essays. They also were using the supplies to collaborate with their peers. These tools made it possible to continue their collaboration and group work. They are now excited to start collaborating on their new essay and social studies projects. Overall, very grateful.”

  • Charting On!

    Funded Aug 27, 2021

My students are so grateful for the resources! They have been collaborating in all subject areas and using the charts and markers to share solutions to questions and problems. My class is able to go around and comment on each other's work.

My students were surprised when we got the supplies !

One mail project we did was a literacy one where they had questions to a story they had to restate the questions, answer and provide text evidence. It help students see how different groups answered and how far they could extend on each question. We also used the supplies for a science project.”

  • Back to the Basics and Inspire

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations. My students and I have been using the supplies to create notes, posters, and complete projects. My students were able to complete the explorer project because we had color pencils to color code European trade routes. My students were so excited to receive the materials as they have hardly seen a set of color pencils that were brand new. My students were able to have pencils that would not break easily, which meant less time sharpening. Our next project is to create props for our American Revolution play and they are excited to use the tools you donated. Thank you again.”

  • Project-Based Learning, Collaboration and Gallery Walks

    Funded May 13, 2019

My students are using new resources to collaborate and discuss ideas. They are writing in the poster paper their project ideas, conclusions, and presenting them to the class. My students are able to break out into groups and jigsaw topics. Then, they are able to use the markers and chart paper to present their findings. After, my students can go around in groups and see what others have done. This then leads to more inquiries and answers.

My students worked on a shelter project. This was part of our NGSS unit. My students were using engineering practices to build a portable/waterproof shelter with limited materials. In the chart paper, they drew their ideas and wrote down conclusions, etc.

When my students first saw the materials they were excited. Since they would be able to easily post their assignment without figuring out tape or magnets. The poster paper already had a backside that we can use to stick on any surface. This made it easier to have groups spread out around the room.”

  • Stop, Watch, and See

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

We are very grateful for your donation. My students and I have been able to see better and have less headaches thanks to the blue light covers. After the new resources arrived I was able to place the blue covers on our lights. The next day, my students came in and loved the new lighting. It was a clearer light and less bright. I have a few ADHD students and their behaviors have lowered, also there has been less unneeded movement. When we opened up the stopwatches my students were excited as now we could have a way to take time during our experiments. Now I could have smaller groups of 3 students instead of 6 or more. Our next steps are to use make adjustments to our classroom lighting and experiment with 6 lights or 8 lights covered. Our next project is making a good parachute that can help our steel washer land. The students will use distance/time to find the speed of the steel washer landing. By having this many stopwatches, I can keep my groups smaller and more students can have a hands-on approach. ERE 5th Grade Mrs. Jolls' class would like to thank you all for your support.”

This is our first year working with Wonders Language Arts curriculum and the online component. We have found it difficult to work with the online component using a classroom projector. When we are working on whole-class assignments or graphic organizers, my students are not able to fill-in and save the work they have shown the class. While individual usage of the online component is accomplished through Chromebooks, our students still need to use it to participate with the whole class. It would be great to have my students participate and use this pad to interact with their online assignments and graphic organizers. It would also allow me to walk around my classroom and teach my students as I point and write using this pad. This technology will enhance the learning and collaboration in my classroom. Furthermore, it would allow my students to use it when presenting projects to the class.
