Students within my classroom come from diverse backgrounds. The student population consists of mainly lower socio-economic sections of the community. The school has over 50% free/reduced lunch students, therefore is considered a school in need and receives school wide free breakfast, lunch and after school snacks. My specific classrooms caters to students interested in pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education. The pathway classes I teacher are Early Lifespan Development, Child Development Services 1 and Child Development Services 2. These classes focus on studies centered around child development. Students will complete training to receive the Commonwealth Child Care Credential, which allows them to enter the field of Early Childhood Education as soon as they turn 18. Each student who completes the pathway will have the certification to become career ready and enter the job force upon turning 18.
