Start the School Year Right!
Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you so much for your donations. As you may or may not know, the beginning of the school year is hectic for teachers. During this time we are making sure that our classrooms are the best environment conducive to learning. This involves moving, organizing, and cleaning the classroom until everything is perfect.
With your donations, I will be able to maintain a clean and organized classroom. The sharpies I received will help me label files and textbooks. The wet mop will insure me and my students have a clean environment to learn in.”

Funded Nov 10, 2021I really appreciate the Epson printer I received. It has been such a wonderful addition to my classroom. I can focus more on my students versus having to take time out of my day to run to the copy room.
Student also benefit from this printer because they also have access to the printer. I will frequently give them writing assignments on Google Docs. As soon as they finish and proofread their work, they can immediately use the printer to make a copy of their work. Its very easy for them to do this. All they have to do is use the bluetooth on their computer, find the printer, and clic on print.
Again, thank you very much for your help and support!”

Funded Oct 25, 2018Presenting lessons and information in the classroom needs to be easily accessible. Previously in my classroom, I was using an outdated projector. The projector's light was barely visible. I had to constantly turn off the lights and close the blinds in order for my students to see the information more clearly. I use the projector everyday. I use it to show educational videos. I also use it during lessons and when I want students to check their homework. A projector is a tremendous asset for me.
When I first received the projector, my students noticed right away how compact it was compared to my older projector. They also noticed how much sharper and brighter everything looked. Another thing they like is that I don't have to turn off all the lights and close the blinds. It is that bright! They still tell me how great the picture quality is.
I have a few students who are my "Projector Helpers". They help me plug in my projector each morning and turn it off at the end of the day. They are also in charge of adjusting the zoom and focusing on it. The thing they enjoy most is displaying their work using the projector.”

Funded Sep 29, 2017The day the iPad was shipped to my school I got a call on the intercom saying that my package was waiting for me in the supply room. As soon as my students heard the message they knew what it was because I had told them that the shipment would be arriving. They became very exited!
Later that day during my lunch, I went to the supply room and retrieved my package. I placed the box in front of my classroom. As my students came in after lunch, most of them noticed the box on top of my desk.
After they sat in their seats I proceeded to open the package. Most of them were yelling and telling me to hurry up. Eventually I took it out of the box. As I showed it to them, they started to yell and chant "turn it on!" They were supper exited!
This iPad Pro has been an important asset in my classroom. I use it in a variety of ways. First of all I use it to monitor their progress during ST Math ( a visual math program that focuses on deep conceptual understanding). I also use it when when we use Quizzizz ( an Online quiz generator). Furthermore, I use it to take notes in the classroom and during professional development with my Apple Pencil.”

Ready for a New School Year!
Funded Sep 6, 2017Teachers are always in need of supplies that the our school does not pay for. This is especially the case at the beginning of the school year. This is the time in the school year that teachers scramble to get their classrooms ready and organized. My particular school does not have the financial support from the community and parents that other schools sometimes have. Teachers here have to pay for many of the supplies that are not given to us by the school. Many of the supplies that that we so pay for are directly used by students and are fundamental in keeping the classroom organized and the teachers prepared. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Hearing Is Believing!
Funded May 4, 2017Thank you for all your help and support in funding my project.
Due to a lack of funding throughout LAUSD and limited spending in my particularly school, I have to buy enrichment and support materials out of my own pocket. Further more, the items I do get, in this case, speakers, are of inferior quality. It helps immensely and really makes a huge difference when student are able to hear clearly a songs, lesson, and/or educational video. Your donation makes a huge difference in each and every students.”

Learning Math and Science Through Technology
Funded Mar 29, 2017Thank you for all your help and support in funding my project.
Due to a lack of funding throughout LAUSD and particularly my school, there is no extra money for computers. Further more, I need something reliable that I can use to assess my students. Also, when I want to show them an educational video, it is very difficult because my computer is so old that all the programs on it are outdated. The Internet is almost impossible to use on my current computer. The pad also gives me the flexibility to walk around the classroom and give assistance to my students.”
