  • Big iPad for My Big-Hearted Students

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Words do not even begin to express how thankful my class and I are about receiving your generous donation to purchase an IPad pro for our classroom. The way technology is evolving and the needs of my students, the IPad helps bridge the gap. There is not one part of our day that we do not use the IPad.

The IPad has been a huge part of our classroom day in and day out. My students use it to communicate their basic wants and needs, use it for leisure activities which enhances their practice in fine motor skills or use it to tell their friends about what they did on their trip or about what they learned in class.

Thank you again for your donation and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Piper

  • Rockin' In P's Class

    Funded Dec 11, 2017

My students are thoroughly enjoying their new classroom bean bags. They use them on a daily basis during group activities and leisure time. When the bean bags arrived, the students were ecstatic about how big and fluffy the bean bags were.

Thank you to all the donors who donated to my classroom project. When creating this project, I had made this project to get the moving mountain peanut rocking chair. At the end of the project, the chair was no longer available on Amazon and I had to pick replacement items. I choose the bean bags. My class is very gracious to your contribution and my hope is that the moving mountain peanut chair will become available again in the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Piper

Utilization of out multi-sensory environment is a significant part of our classroom program. These students will be engaged in activities in the multi-sensory room, the adapted playground and adapted physical education program. These environments provide a safe way for them to engage in activities that we take for granted. Within the classroom, my students need to explore different sensory needs on a daily bases. A rocking chair meets the needs of several of my students' sensory needs. The students can take turns in the rocking chair during lessons, large group activities, or just during leisure time. The sensory of rocking helps many of my students to focus.
