Fix Our "Baroque-en" Ensemble With New Violin Bows
Funded Apr 1, 2024Thank you again for your help in funding our classroom project. Words cannot describe how thankful our Arts Academy music department teachers and students are. The Baroque bows and tenor recorder are already being used by the Arts Academy Baroque Ensemble.
When the materials first arrived our students were extremely excited. Everyone helped unpack everything and found a safe place on the side of a cabinet where we could hang the bows on magnetic hooks. Soon after, we had our first rehearsal and lessons with our string specialist. The bows are taking a little bit to get used to, but we can already hear the difference.
We are currently working on 2 standard Baroque pieces, but are looking forward to adding one more. The bows have really sparked the interest of more string players. Students are very excited to experience music the way it would have been played in the 1600s. I definitely see this ensemble doubling in size in the very near future.
We are once again extremely thankful and looking forward to our continued growth and knowledge in music and Baroque performance practice.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A. Arosemena
The (88) Keys to Success!
Funded Mar 13, 2022Thank you again for your help in funding our classroom project. Words cannot describe how thankful our Arts Academy music department teachers and students are. The two digital pianos are the go-to spot for extra help or for working on more advanced piano music.
When the materials first arrived our students were extremely excited. We all knew the project had been funded just days before, but we had no idea it would've all happened so fast. Our students were quick to start rearranging the classroom to makes space for our new piano center. The assembly was very simple, as we all collaborated beautifully. Within a class period, we were all taking turns trying out our two new pianos.
We currently have three Piano 1 classes, and one Piano 2 class. The two new digital pianos are reserved during class time for teacher demonstrations or for small lessons (2 students, 1 teacher) while the rest of the piano students work on their simpler keyboards. Small classroom performances are also in the works since we now have the necessary materials.
We are once again extremely thankful and looking forward to our continued growth and knowledge in music and on the piano.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A. Arosemena
