Listening Ears for my Fourth Years!
Funded Sep 17, 2019The headphones that you have so graciously donated to our classroom have been such a huge benefit to us! My students are at a dual language school. What this means is that I have students who speak only English at home who come to school and learn Spanish. I also have students who speak only Spanish at home who come to school and learn English! It's an amazing time to be a teacher! There are also some amazing computer programs to help both of these groups of students to better learn the languages. My school also provides chromebooks to all students which is an amazing benefit. The headphones that you helped to buy allow my students to be able to use these programs without the distracting noise of someone else beside them also using the program with a different activity.
My students also come from a large socioeconomic demographic. Some parents can afford to buy their children headphones just for school use. Other homes are struggling to put food on the table and to ask for headphones to use just at school seems obtuse. I have tried purchasing cheap headphones with my own money, just to watch them fall apart after a few uses. These panasonic headphones are more durable, and are blue, which the kids love! The students will also use them for academic growth and state testing. The added benefit of having a microphone also comes in useful for the learning programs which require them to read and record, and our yearly English language acquisition test which has a speaking portion. I appreciate your generosity so much!”

Multiplication Mania!
Funded May 20, 2019My students have benefitted so much from the multiplication materials already! Although we haven't yet arrived at our official multiplication unit for fourth grade, I intentionally asked for a lot of foundational multiplication activities for the students who aren't on fourth grade level with their math. Multiplication board games and jenga multiplication games help the students to have fun and learn math at the same time!
There were also other materials that help the students to solidify their knowledge in all other areas of fourth grade math, including the folder games shown in the pictures. These activities provide a break from the monotony of workbook tasks, while also allowing the students to practice math and have fun!
Thank you so much for your donations to help my students with their math skills! I have already seen such an improvement in their engagement and learning this year! You are all amazing!”

Funded Apr 21, 2017Thank you so much for your graciousness and donations to my project! I teach at a Title I school which means that many of my students come from a high level of poverty and having nice supplies in the classroom means so much to them. Being a first year teacher I have contributed many of my own funds to supplying and creating materials for my classroom. This donation means so much to me and to my kindergarten class. Thank you so much!”
