A colleague of mine recently established a language-specific library in her room with different levels of readers. She uses them for free-reading in each class period. It has been a hit! The students already know where/when to get their books and they are completely engaged. My room is full of students who LOVE to read and I am truly inspired by her idea. She had received a grant for her project and unfortunately there are none left for the school year. I would love to get started on my library and hopefully have it built before the end of the year, ideally, but definitely by the beginning of the next.
