  We are so excited for this endeavor and cannot wait to share (and start!) the news with the students. This project requires a little extra time and consideration to properly execute since we have to address allergies, school policy, etc., but these materials that you helped to fund are going to be the perfect addition to the cooking curriculum we have in mind. The special ed teacher and I are connecting all of our T's and dotting all of our I's so that we can roll this initiative out successfully and with fidelity. • Displaying Our STEMsational Work!

  The funding for this project could not have come at a better time; my building administrators made the decision to uproot my office and move me to a completely different location. With that being said, this project has allowed me the opportunity and avenue(s) to showcase student work, their "I can" statement goals, and all of my visual aids and reference cheat sheets! • Sensory and STEM

  It is absolutely the most amazing thing to be able to offer my students different sensory options when they need a break to ground themselves. So far, the favorite items have been the noise-cancelling headphones, the chewy pencil toppers, and the calming strips! (I've even taken one of those calming strips for myself!!)

• Let's Teach Good Personal Hygiene Habits!

  We are absolutely loving the opportunity to work on personal hygiene habits with our LifeSkills class. The kids love their 'hygiene bins' and are learning so much about their bodies and the importance of good hygiene.

  We also have so many new items that we were able to give the extras to our school social worker who hands them out to the students who cannot afford to purchase their own!

  I love that this project has already exceeded by expectations and that the materials are being dispersed to so many kids in our student population! Thank you so much for your generosity, kindness, and support!”

• Growing Our BrainSTEMs!

  My students are loving all of the new things that are helping them 'grow their brainSTEMs!' They eagerly come into the speech room hoping for hands-on learning and activities, and thanks to your generosity and support, I can always tell them, "YES!"

  We are exploring a multimodality approach to teaching and learning and seeing what way(s) we learn best - visually, auditorily, kinesthetically, etc. - and the students are using this new information to best support them across all academic areas.

• Let's Make Book Club STEM-Sational!

  We are barely 2 full weeks into the new 2023-2024 school year and already the kids have started begging for book club to begin! There's nothing I love more than for kids to develop a love for learning, so with the materials from this funded project, I'm able to continue facilitating that excitement. It's because of these individuals that I can foster the importance of literacy across all age groups and help the students gain background knowledge on things they may never get the chance to experience.”

It just so happens that my office was relocated this school year and the need for furnishings was a top priority so that I could offer my students a safe, fun, and organized learning environment. • Learning STEMs from Fun!

  Our new materials from this funded project have truly been STEM-sational, to say the least! Thanks to the kindness and generosity of donors like you, my students are finally able to learn and grow through hands-on, kinesthetic opportunities. The STEM items are fan favorites because the kids really enjoy being creative and thinking outside of the box. They have even used some of the new stuff to learn how to 'visualize' an image of what they are thinking to later generalize that ability to create pictures in their minds about stories that they read or hear. • Hands-on Materials Printed in Color!

  Funded May 11, 2023

  I never realized what a 'treat' it is to have pictures and manipulatives printed in color! My students go crazy when they see things that 'pop' with bright colors that they actually get to use and even keep for themselves. It's amazing to see what a little bit of color can do during our speech sessions -- colored materials provide significantly more engagement from the kids which keeps them focused and learning the whole session.
