• The "OG" of Literacy

  I truly cannot put into words what the funding of this particular project has done for my students. With the materials from this order, I have been able to seamlessly implement my Orton-Gillingham training into my speech sessions and the progress over such a short period of time has been mind-blowing (to say the least)! My students are FINALLY making progress with their encoding and decoding skills thanks to the "OG of Literacy" and your generosity, and I am so excited - as are they! - to keep the momentum going. The data I've gathered thus far truly shows that these literacy strategies work and I am absolutely obsessed with executing these lessons with my students. THANK YOU for contributing - you are helping SO many students learn to read, spell, and write, and that is an impact that will be everlasting.”

• Hands-on Fun for Everyone!

  Thank you so much for your generous donations! Your support is providing materials and opportunities for learning that I could not provide on my own. So far, the velcro dots have been used the most - as I was able to create adaptive books for my students with severe disabilities. They love using them and are making such great progress! The magnetic tape has been a game-changer in my speech room, allowing me to put plastic folders with anchor charts, token boards, and scrap paper near the table to be within easy reach. You are truly appreciated, and I am grateful to be a part of the Donor's Choose community!”

• Ready for Reusable Materials!

  My students and I are LOVING the magnetic boards hung on the wall! We are using them to display student work and anchor charts for quick references. I have also had the opportunity to make so many visuals and hands-on materials using the laminator pouches and I'm storing them on binder rings so I can navigate them with ease. • Clean, Fed, & Fun!

  Tis the season for runny noses and all of the germs! Gross! Luckily, thanks to donors as wonderful as you, I've had the air purifier running 24/7 and the Clorox wipes on-hand at all times to wipe down materials, the table, the chairs, and anything else I can get my hands on! The kids are loving the stools because they have way more room to move around in our small space and they're loving the new snacks even more! Goldfish are a huge hit, as always, and they keep working hard to earn their 'punches' for their punch cards. Thank you so much for your generosity! We appreciate you more than you know!”

• Time to Improve Executive Functioning!

  Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I love that I now have the opportunity to support my speech students with their executive functioning skills during the new school year. Unfortunately, most educators don't take the time to target these important skills which ultimately leads to bigger problems down the line. • Color-Printed & Laminated for Learning!

  It may sound silly, but there really is nothing better as an educator than to be able to print color materials for your kids and laminate them so that they can be continuously used day-in and day-out, year after year. Unfortunately, our district does not provide colored copiers or sturdy lamination that doesn't break apart, so Donors Choose has allowed me to give my students the things they need to achieve their fullest potential. • It's All for the Kids

  This project was near and dear to my heart because being in a title 1 school district, I have had so many students over the years that were lacking warm weather essentials in the cold winter months. I would watch them walk into the building each morning, noticeably shaking from the cold, and I wanted nothing more than to provide them with jackets, hats, mittens, and anything to keep their warm. From this project being funded, I was able to provide our school social worker with winter hats and gloves for so many of our students and they were incredibly grateful to be given these items. Thank you for supporting me in my effort to support THEM. It's all for the kids, and your generosity enabled me to provide a true impact.”

  We are so excited for this endeavor and cannot wait to share (and start!) the news with the students. This project requires a little extra time and consideration to properly execute since we have to address allergies, school policy, etc., but these materials that you helped to fund are going to be the perfect addition to the cooking curriculum we have in mind.
