My ICT classroom is an extremely diverse learning environment! I work with students with special needs as well as students who are at a high level academically. I have students with diverse backgrounds, and they use their unique differences to add to the world of Social Studies! My students are from Jamaica, Italy, Yemen, Pakistan, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Albania, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Nigeria, Mexico, and China. In 6th grade Social Studies, we study ancient cultures in the Eastern Hemisphere. We look closely at the development of the early human and how they began to create civilizations. We study Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, Ancient India, Ancient Rome, and Ancient Greece. Throughout the year I use many hands on activities to keep the students engaged and excited to learn. We complete exciting in class projects as well as explore New York City through many educational and recreational trips!
