I call my classroom a mini world room. Of my 18 students, four were not born in the United States and speak different languages at home. These include Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, and Haitian-Creole. 50% of my class is African American, 33% are white, and 17% are Asian or Hispanic. For some of my students, the only meals they receive are the free breakfast offered in the morning and lunch. I work in a Title 1 school were 70% of the students receive free or reduced meals. Despite their socioeconomic backgrounds, my students are full of personality! They are friendly, determined, outgoing, and love to dance. With all the right tools, I know my students can and will succeed!
