The students I am hoping to help with Wobble stools have the need to keep physically active all day long, and being able to do that helps them concentrate! Many, but not all, have ADHD. Some have sensory issues. Research has shown the benefits that students can gain from being able to "wobble while they work." Concentration and control are two characteristics that we work to develop in our Montessori learners. The Montessori classroom is a wonderful place with lots of things going on all the time, and children working individually and moving around the room. For a child who has not yet developed physical control and focus at a level on par with peers, it can be a distracting place! As Montessorians, our desire is to work with the child where they are and how their brain works, to build those control and concentration characteristics. These particular stools from Kore are well designed, and tough. We have had one in use now for three years, and it is going strong.
