Thank you so much for your contribution that allowed my class and I to utilize our camera and video technology. The batteries, recharger and adapter allowed us to use technology we already had, and opened up so many more possibilities for activity and learning within our class. We were able to record our mini news reports from events leading up to the American Revolution, which gave the assignment more of an authentic feel than simply doing the research and filling out a graphic organizer. The students not only used the technology, but asked about it and talked about it.

Not only have my students enjoyed the use of the equipment thanks to the new power supply, but other teachers have also been able to use the technology as well. Your donation has had an impact not just on my classroom, but across the school. With such large budget problems looming over the state and my system, this has helped so much.

Thank you, again. I look forward to using the video and camera in the future, to plan more activities and to get my students more actively involved in the learning process.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lycett

Thank you so much for your donation. The books that were purchased are going to offer more opportunities for discussion and class involvement. Because each student will have a copy of the text, they will get more exposure to the concepts and ideas in Seven Habits for Highly Effective Teens. They will now be able to be held responsible for their participation.

I am excited to use these books in the future as the intention is to open up the discussion of sociological issues. With the limited use I've had so far, I've observed that having the characters and their actions to discuss from Al Capone Does My Shirts opens up the discussion and application of sociology. As students get used to the discussion, it helps them to open up about their own lives, or to apply their lives to the relatable discussion topics.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lycett

I teach awesome teenagers who need a boost to compete with students from more affluent schools and prosperous areas. We are also in danger of going into needs improvement if we do not make AYP this year. We have migrant, ESOL students as well as a large low socioeconomic population. Many of our students have not traveled far from home, and those that do may not have the opportunity to explore and experience the places they go. Not all of our students have access to computers at home. They need the exposure to technology. When they get to college, they may be or feel behind. My students need every chance to succeed, including the chance to complete amazing work while in college. They need the confidence and the skills to do so.
