Soft Flexible Floor Seating
Funded Jan 17, 2019Students use our materials and special seating on a daily basis. They are assigned a job and a seat and the seating choice they are assigned changes daily. Students have become more responsible with completing their work, due to needing to change spots daily. It is routine for them to now move from one spot to another. They are kind and helpful to move other students items if they are absent as well.
The students are very responsible with the special seating. When the seating arrived and was ready for student use, their faces were in shock, full of surprise, and excited to implement the new choices. We created the rules for each seat as a class. Students are given 2 strikes before they loose it on the 3rd strike.
Students have become more helpful toward each other and reminding other students how items should be treated and used. They are taking pride in the seating choices. When we have visitors in our room, the students are able to teach them how to appropriately use the seating.
We want to thank you again for supporting our project and all the freedom and wiggling it allows each student to do as they learn and work together.”

Joining Together in Growth
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation for our class to get out rugs. They are enjoyed and used on a daily basis. The students are constantly working, resting, and playing on them. They also brighten our room up with the colors.
Daily, we hold our class meetings, math lessons, reading lessons, and guidance/behavioral support meetings on them. The spots on the rug allow students a consistent safe spot to sit. They are surrounded by friends and classmates that will help them make responsible choices.
My students and the fellow staff members come in our room and notice the brightness of the carpet. They notice how well the students respect the addition to our room. We also use it as a learning tool, the students, first graders, have learned the word perimeter already. We do this when we all need to see something that is on the floor. Thank you again for four generosity!”

Funded Dec 7, 2017We are using Brain Pop Jr. (BPJ) as a supplement to our current curriculum. BPJ has multiple subject areas and standards that have lessons. These lessons have engaging videos that grab the students attention.
Moby and Annie lead the lessons and are very interactive. These lessons then have follow-up activities and quizzes to check for understanding. One of our favorite things to do is to use the Word Pop, the vocabulary words, to make a quick skit. The students have to act out the word that they were assigned. Students are grouped up to complete the games. They have to work together to get the job done.
The 1st graders were so exited to meet Moby and Annie. Annie is a human and Moby is a robot. Moby doesn't speak, he just beeps. Annie then explains what Moby has said.
Our room always bursts into cheers Brain Pop Jr. gets turned on.
THANK you for your generous donation!”
