We Live in Color
Funded May 9, 2023Being able to see their ideas and work in color really makes an impact on my students. We are not all the sam and having black and white covering our classroom walls and the printables that I share with my students make it very hard for them to explore and observe in science, recognize similarities and difference of objects, identify outside character traits, as well as see people who share the same cultural identity as my students achieving. We don't live in a black and white colorless world, so why should my students have to learn in one. We accept and thrive in diversity as us evident from our classroom photos! Thank you so very much for helping to make that possible!”

Funded Sep 14, 2023Engaging students in conversation is something that teachers do daily. But to get students talking on their own about something that everyone in the classroom can relate to is another thing altogether. I created this project to do just that, and I am happy to say I am witnessing it daily! These games and activities provided the backdrop to get conversations rolling. Each student feels engaged and that they have something to contribute. Each student graduates to the activities that they want to do and not the classmate that they may be more familiar with. As a result the students are talking a loud the activities and are excited to share with other classmates! That is a win win in my book! Thank you for helping me engage students and provide activities that most would not have had access to.”

Goals Are Our Goal
Funded Aug 15, 2023I am thrilled to report that the goals have really improved the level of practice that we are able to now have with our new goals. Students can be more focused upon learning the game and not on keeping the broken goals upright. It makes PE a much more enjoyable if we are able to have the supplies that we need to support students' learning! The happy smiles that greeted me when each class saw the goals made my heart warm. Thank you for helping kids be able to be kids as they joined in on learning different activities to help them be fit and active!”

Basic Needs Will Help Us Succeed!
Funded Aug 9, 2023Each child comes into each school year with their own personalities, likes, dislikes and a varied skill base. Being able to supply each student with the materials that they need to be successful in Third Grade is something that I was able to do this school year because of all the support I received from all of you. We have a lot to do in Third Grade and no student should fall behind because they don't have Expo markers, crayons, pencils, erasers and folders to keep their work within arms reach in an organized manner. All of my students are off to a great start and I could not be happier that they are engaged and excited to learn. Lack of materials is not holding anyone back!”

Funded Aug 9, 2023Being able to do homework requires supplies that many students don't have at home. I wanted to take away that obstacle for my students and offer them pencils, erasers, a sharpener and a storage pouch to keep their homework supplies together.
Students were thrilled to be able to have these supplies to take home and were excited to do their homework now that supplies were available. I have to say that this has resulted in a huge increase of class participation compared to my previous years with homework .Students are excited to return their homework packet on the assigned day! It was a win win for everyone. This project allowed my students to practice necessary grade level standards at home! Yay!”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Being able to have a colorful classroom where students can see themselves in the pictures, charts and books that I display is crucial in this day and age. Students need to feel like they are valued and respected for who they are and what they bring to our classroom community. Having supplies that enable me to be able to support all students in this way is a huge game changer for me this year. I am extremely grateful for the help and support that I received from the Donors Choose community! Supplies such as white board markers and multicultural crayons allow my students to participate and engage in our learning independently and share their thought process.”

Funded May 8, 2023This project has ignited my students interest in how and why climate change is an issue and how we as third graders can help. I am impressed with their enthusiasm and excitement for this project. They have questions and have begun their research which is prompting more questions. This is exactly what we want our students to do- be passionate about a cause and recognize how we are all impacted by this situation and that we can come up with some solutions to help this issue. It has been said that in K-2 students are learning to read, but in 3rd grade they read to learn. This is so evident in this project that we have begun.
Thank you for helping to ignite the passion of reading to learn in my students!”

Funded Aug 3, 2023I am thrilled to have begun centers with my students which focus upon differentiating activities for each student in order to target skills based upon the needs of each individual student that is in my classroom. It is so crucial to be able to do this because each student is unique and special. My students enjoy being able to practice the skills that they need and I have even observed classmates working with each other and using academic language to help a peer. Being able to differentiate AND bring students together discussing academics- this is a win win in my book!”

Funded May 9, 2023We are thrilled to be able to use these white board markers, white boards, math board and markers on a daily basis. Being able to have individual supplies for each student to use is crucial in our classroom. The white boards and math boards are so engaging and inviting to my students. Whether we are working in math arrays, repeated addition or writing the sequence of events in a folktale we are supporting our learning with these supplies! Write On has brought my classroom to life and allowed us all to participate and be productive.”

Funded May 6, 2023Reading is a wonderful way to experience different ideas, learn about other people, customs and lands, as well as expose oneself to a variety of characters and their experiences. In third grade we move from learning to read to reading to learn. Being able to excite and instill a love or reading during this grade is crucial for future academic success and reading for enjoyment.
These books that I ordered for Thai project have the capability to do just that. They are high interest, there is a variety of genres, as well as graphic novels which really grab the students at this age. Thank you so very much for helping me build reading interest in my students!”
