  • It’s Just A Roll Of The Dice!

    Funded Mar 12, 2024

Being able to make sure that all

Kids have what they need to be successful sometimes can be a daunting task for a classroom teacher. Everyone's needs aren't always the same, but making sure that everyone's needs are taken care of is a different task all together. I started with water bottles because keeping hydrated is good for kids. It makes their mouths wet, staves off headaches and sometimes hunger and helps keep us focused. The water bottles served their purpose well as having them filled and nearby made sure that my students weren't missing instructional time walk down the hall to get a drink. The dice served a totally different purpose. There were physical education dice that when combined with an extremely large regular dice told us what exercise we were doing and how many of th. Kids were engaged and happy and it was perfect for a quick break! I loved seeing all the smiles. Also, the extra large dotted dice are super for some quick multiplication facts when transitioning or for a center. It was a win all around!”

  • Time for a Timeline: Past Impacts Present

    Funded Jan 2, 2024

Thank you so very much for supporting my students through your donations to this project. Having the correct art material to use in authentic drawings of self and others in timelines makes for a better representation. All students should be able to be seen and see themselves in history and in the present and have goals for their future.

It really warms my heart to see the students taking these materials and being creative! It is such a wonderful sight to see! Kids being creative and creating! Putting themselves into their work.”

  • Social Emotional Awareness

    Funded Dec 30, 2023

Thank you so much for seeing the worthiness in this project and funding it. So many times a day we deal with emotions and feelings. They are not something that we mention for a brief class time and then go on about our day. They are a part of our classroom and a part of who each one of us in our community is. Therefore it is crucial that we share emotions through reading, drawing, writing prompts and various scenarios. Learning nowadays is much more than the basic subjects in school. We are preparing children to be able to navigate difficult situations, get along with classmates and school community members as well as help students see themselves and value themselves. Thank you for helping my students navigate themselves.”

  • See Me!

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Being able to see themselves throughout the school year engaged in classroom activities has been a highlight of the school year. It has enabled us to share thought and feelings about the activities we have done, been a welcoming way to encourage all learners to be present and engaged and welcomed in our community as well as giving a sense of purpose to the work that we do daily.

My students have been proud to see themselves in,"living color" displayed throughout our classroom and school community. It builds their own self confidence and their growth mindset.”

  • Keep It Clean and a New Seat Can’t Be Beat!

    Funded Dec 23, 2023

Being able to offer flexible seating options is a wonderful way to help students take charge of their learning and seek out their own optimum place for learning. My students really enjoy the flexible seating options that are available to them and we're thrilled for this addition!

Being able to help keep their classroom clean is a favorite job of my students. And having these wipes available for all students to use has certainly helped keep germs at bay in our classroom this year as well!

Both this flexible seating option and these Clorox wipes have instilled independence in my students as well as a sense of pride in their work, choices, as well as their classroom.”

  • Choose Your Seat!

    Funded Dec 17, 2023

Thank you so very much for finding this project. Students today need options beside the regular classroom chair. They need to feel comfortable and happy as they learn and the ability to choose their seat for their best learning is a wonderful option for them.

It is so nice to see how happy the kids are when the seating options become available to them and they can have the opportunity to sink right into the comfy beanbag and read or do math work on the chromebook.

We all know that all students are not the same so that means that their learning styles and comfortability isn't either. So, if I can offer a cozy place for my students to do their school jobs, then that is what I will do!”

  • Supplies Running Dry!

    Funded Dec 11, 2023

I can't thank you enough for the help you have given the students in my class. Replenishing supplies is so important in a busy classroom such as mine. We are constantly working on improving our skills and learning more and more each day. That requires replacing the items that we use on a daily basis: erasers, markers, crayons and pencils. There are some days that I can't understand where all the pencils have gone....and don't even get me started on the erasers!😂😂😂 I am genuinely grateful for donors such as you who look out for classrooms like mine and help with supplies.

    I am deeply grateful!”

  • Financial Literacy Begins

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Being able to work with my students on number sense is crucial. Students need to be able to explore numbers in real sense and be able to understand the necessity for comprehension of working with numbers in our world today.

I am so pleased to be able to offer a variety of options for me students so that I am able to meet students at their individual levels and raise them up through exposure and practice.

Students are excited to work with mathematical situations and bring a real life urgency to comprehension of numbers in all forms. I am so happy that with your help I was able to broaden my students mathematical abilities and build confidence in working with math in general.”

  • Full Stem Ahead!

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

It's always exciting to see what my students will do when I put STEM materials in front of them. Their creative minds are amazing to behold. They think of many things outside of the box and their thinking is just that! Their smiles and excitement are wonderful to behold as most of my students do not have access to STEM materials on a regular basis- so that is why I write this project- for my students to be able to explore and expand their thinking and then share their thought process of why they chose certain STEM materials.”

  • Choose Your Seat!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

My students were thrilled when they opened the gynormous boxes! They couldn't figure out what was inside and to visibly see their excitement, it brought joy to my heart! Knowing that we have a community like this, Donors Choose, makes teaching a bit easier as I can write up a project and it is a collective effort around the US to hopefully support the project and my students. We speak a lot about building a strong community in my classroom, and this was a wonderful visual for my students about what a community can do! Choosing a seat has never garnered more excitement now that we have some options! Thank you so very much for your support through this project and for supporting Donors Choose!”

Magic can happen when a child opens a book and discovers a whole new world. Amazement happens in my classroom when a science project is performed and the outcome is eye opening to the little eyes that I teach. Seductive reasoning and explaining our thinking occur daily through our ability to problem solve mathematical equations. I am a First Grade teacher in a high need community. On a daily basis I instill curiosity, a sense of wonder a delight in learning and teamwork along with compassion and caring. By teaching an energetic group of First Graders, I am constantly engaging these little minds in academic discourse, enabling them to put sounds together to create words, as well as explore a multitude of learning activities which can challenge, provide solutions and give my first grade friends a wonderful sense of accomplishment. They are high energy and come from diverse backgrounds in a high needs area.
