A school wide flexible seating initiative will allow many different seating options for students and allow for them to learn in a way that is most comfortable for them. The immediate benefits for students can include burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. This model helps students be more self-aware of what types of seating and environment help them learn best. It also empowers them by the opportunity to have choices. I am requesting yoga blocks , active learning stools, round carry me cushions, and tennis balls to decrease the noise of traditional chairs and or to add to the texture of traditional chairs. I am also requesting two school wide resources for teachers and staff to access to provide these enriching environments.
