I teach two classes of Read 180 students who struggle a lot with reading and writing. They use their student computers daily to work on fluency, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, and writing. It would be amazing to have an actual storage cart for these computers! For the past four years, my computers have been stored in a cabinet underneath a counter. This means my students always have to kneel down and reach into the cabinet to unplug a computer. Often this results in dropped computers or cords being pulled. Additionally, there is nowhere for me to plug in the cords, so they are shoved to the back of one shelf. Our class computer is also used daily for projects, checking grades, and practicing writing, vocabulary, and grammar. Currently, the computer is taking up a student desk and the top of a filing cabinet. Students have to sit sideways to use the computer in order to not block a walkway. Having a computer desk would make things a lot neater and would make the computer easier for students to use.
