The biggest problem in our classroom is movement. At 10 and 11 years old, my 5th grade students feel the need to be moving all the time. Studies show that students with occupied hands listen better; studies also show that active bodies are linked to active minds. My students love to move and create. By helping furnish our classroom with wobble chairs and fidget toys, you are helping every scholar in my room learn and grow. It's easy to point out the restless kiddo, the one who needs to sharpen his pencil every five minutes, or get a drink, or use the restroom every class period. Fidgets are affordable, easily introduced, and appealing to both boys and girls. What's more, they help keep kids in their seats and learning, rather than being hindered by their own short attention spans. Please help my amazing kids move while they learn!
