Creating a Safe Classroom to Help Promote Positive Mental Health
Funded Oct 29, 2024Thank you so much for your donation to my calming corner. Your contribution will provide my students with some tools necessary to help my students to deescalate when becoming anxious and overwhelmed. It is so important to approach their lessons with a clear mind and calm body. This center will help my students in an extremely positive way. THANK YOU!”

This classroom project was brought to life by .Help Us With Our Cooking/Baking Skills!
Funded Oct 14, 2019We want to thank you all who donated to our classroom cooking project. It was generous and thoughtful of you! In donating to our project you are giving us the opportunity to continue our class baking/cooking projects. This will help us with our direction following, creativity, and independence. We also hope to begin to sell some of our baked goods to the staff and students in our school to help fund future recipes. Again, thank you! You have helped more than you realize.”

Chill Out and Read
Funded Nov 27, 2018I want to take this opportunity to thank you so much for donating to our class project. My students love reading, especially nonfiction books. I am constantly looking for inexpensive books on sale, or looking through the "give away" bin. We had limited books on their level and books of their interest.
The Chill Out and Read project was a perfect first project for my class. We have made this a group effort. We labeled bins with the different genres we have been learning about and set up a quite, semi-private area where they can be comfortable. I have begun an independent reading time built in our very busy class schedule. The students are also encouraged to read everyday for homework and write about what they read.
We are planning on expanding our classroom library with more books and comfortable seating. This might be a future Donors Choose project. We have discovered the joys of reading for pleasure!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pollock
