My students are reluctant readers. I hope to invite them into a place where they can feel comfortable so that they can trust themselves, that they will make progress with effort.
I plan on establishing various learning stations - each one, an opportunity to explore Language Arts. The rug and pillows on my wishlist are to create a cozy reading station. The "magical" pencils, markers, crayons, paper and glue are for the writing station and telling their stories. The games such as Headbandz, Boggle, Guess Who, Scrabble, as well as the white boards and Expo pens are for the ELA games station. The pins are rewards that they can boast on their school lanyard.
I need for my students to feel special and cared for. I very, truly believe that they deserve that!
