Designing, building, programming, and running robots in FIRST Robotics Competition events is a unique experience that will push my students to aim high and become self-starting problem solvers as well as introduce them to a wide range of STEM fields. We are currently using 5 year-old laptops that frequently crash when we run our CAD software. Most of the students do not have access to computers at home so we need to acquire two team laptop computers that they can take home to continue their CADing and programming. We placed 10th out of 49 teams in our first FIRST competition. This year we want to go to the world championships. With better equipment we can do it.
